About this Cook
I am a mother to an almost 3 year old daughter & another on the way in March! There are recipes from this site that my husband and I love! We fortunately do not have any food allergies... My daughter keeps me busy. She was diagnosed as having egg and milk allergies when she was a year old. There are some great recipes on this site that we have tried. Keep the egg and milk free recipes coming! :)
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake. I also have made many stews, chilis and soups from this site. They have all been great!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother is a good cook. I don't have any traditions yet. I hope to one day, just like my mother has.
My cooking triumphs
My husband loves the chili I make. But it's not my recipe. :(
My cooking tragedies

Cranberry, Sausage and Apple Stuffing
I just made this today for us to take to the in-laws tomorrow... OMG is it delicious!!! I used the Bob Evans Sage sausage & it is a tasty edition. I also used onions instead of leeks. Other than that, I used the rest of the ingrediants as listed... I cooked it outside of the turkey, so I ended up using 2 cups of chicken broth. I highly recommend this recipe. It is easy & like I said, delicious!

Cherry Pie IV
I made this with high hopes... It didn't live up to them, unfortunately. The only cherries I could find (frozen) were sweet, dark cherries. I have a baby and didn't really have time to buy fresh cherries and pit all of them. Something was off in the flavor. Not too sweet though. Considering I used sweet cherries and the called-for amount of sugar in this recipe. I used already-made pie crust. But I always do that! It's sooo much easier for me. If I ever have more time I will definitely try and use fresh cherries. Just wanted everyone to know - BEWARE of the frozen, dark, sweet cherries.

American Lasagna
This was very good. But for anyone who is planning on making it - please (as others here have suggested) make a little extra sauce. And DO NOT USE the oven ready noodles. I did it to save a little time. Mistake. Unless you have enough sauce to cover all of the noodle the ends stick out and are as hard and brittle as can be. Oh well. I would like to make this again. I will not use 12 noodles if I do. Another reviewer suggested 9. That would be perfect. Also, if you like ricotta cheese (I love it) you may want to buy the 2lb. container instead of just a pint. Maybe use half of that. The sauce was yummy. I think it needs to be a little spicier. Of course that's a personal preference. I will definitely try to make this again.
