Pumpkin Butter I

So flavorful and delicious! I followed the recipe exactly, wouldn't change a thing. Great served on biscuits or on pumpkin pancakes.

Apple Butter I

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2009
Super delicious. I did have some trouble with the recipe: I cooked this for way longer than the recipe says, and the apples never thickened on their own. But that's probably the fault of my slow cooker - it's just really slow. I just eventually whirled the mixture in the blender for the perfect spreadable texture. The flavor was amazing! I did reduce the sugar a bit (my apples were already pretty sweet) and use part brown sugar. I also added a dash of allspice. This is one I'll definitely make again, even with the little bit of extra work of blending it.

Apple Betty

Absolutely incredible! My family and I loved this delicious dessert. I followed other reviewers and used brown sugar for half of the white, plus I added a dash each of cloves and allspice. This recipe is definitely a keeper.

Playgroup Granola Bars

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2009
This was so fun to make! I didn't have any honey and used pancake syrup instead, also used wheat flour instead of all-purpose. Since some of the reviewers said the cooking time was a bit too long, and I wanted chewy granola bars, I only cooked them for 20 minutes. They turned out very soft and chewy, so I will keep doing them like that. All in all, this is a delicious recipe and I will make them again!

Green Salsa

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2009
Very delicious! A nice change of pace from red salsa. We used hot sauce in place of green chilies and jalapenos because we didn't have any on hand. We also added a bit of parsley. We ate it on taco salad, it was so good! My 2-year-old was eating it by the spoonful, he liked it so much.

Super delicious. Soft and chewy, and so good! We omitted the walnuts and added a cup of coconut, it was wonderful!

Breakfast Crisp

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2009
The only changes I made were to use regular rolled oats instead of instant, and to bake it in a glass pie dish. It was delicious, like eating a giant oatmeal cookie. It turned out kind of crumbly, but I don't mind that. It was a great breakfast, but I think it would also be good served as a dessert with ice cream!

Banana Frittata

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2009
The flavor was good. But you have to make sure that the oil and butter are really hot before spooning in the batter - I didn't and mine stuck horribly to the pan. I wasn't able to turn it without completely mauling it. If I try this again I'll make sure that the oil is sizzling first!

Oregano Cubed Potatoes

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2009
These were so yummy! I especially liked the lemon flavor. I changed the recipe the tiniest bit by not peeling the potatoes and using dried oregano instead of fresh. Other than that, made it exactly as written and it was delicious.

Triple Fudge Brownies

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2009
These were pretty good for being so fast and easy. They were more cake-like than fudgy for me - tasted pretty much like cake with pudding in it! It would be fun to try this with various other flavor combinations, like yellow cake and butterscotch pudding, etc.

Made exactly as written, except with powdered milk instead of regular. It was delicious and so relaxing! I loved it and am planning on having it again tonight. :-)

Cookie Dough for Ice Cream (Eggless)

Reviewed: May 13, 2009
I'm a pregnant woman who was craving cookie dough - I was so excited to find a recipe that didn't use eggs. I followed other reviewers' suggestions for making it to be eaten as is: all brown sugar, milk instead of water, pinch of salt, chocolate chips. Also added a dash of cinnamon for a little extra flavor. This was super simple and very yummy.

Macaroni Ham Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2009
This was very delicious! I used shredded cheese instead of diced because that's what I had on hand, and I tossed in some Italian dressing in place of some of the mayo and mustard. This is great by itself, or served on a lettuce leaf for fancier presentation.

Fudgy Brownies I

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2009
This is a very delicious brownie - it's dark and rich. I like that it isn't overly sweet - the flavors are more complex. I added chocolate chips, and they were so yummy! Very fudgy and chocolaty.

Homemade Black Bean Veggie Burgers

Easy to make and satisfying to eat. The burgers were very flavorful. I used extra onion in place of the green pepper, and wheat bran instead of bread crumbs.

Thirty Minute Yellow Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2009
The cake was very easy and quick. I used butter instead of shortening, and we loved the results - it was delicious. I frosted it with the Decorator Frosting from this website. Also, I cut the recipe in half and did one 9-inch round cake layer, because I know I'll eat the whole thing no matter how much I make!

Flourless Chocolate Cake II

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2009
This was dense and fudgy, but light at the same time, and just melted in my mouth with every bite! I might have undercooked it a bit (my oven can be a little slow) because it wouldn't come out of the pan, but we absolutely loved it!

Bob's Awesome Lasagna

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2009
This was a really good lasagna. I made a few adjustments - soaked the noodles instead of cooking them, used less ground beef and added cooked cracked wheat, added an egg to the cottage cheese and mixed it with the mozzarella, covered with foil for the first 45 minutes of cooking. Very delicious!
