About this Cook
hello, i am stephanie. i go to school and live in chicago. my mom taught me how to cook and i hope to be able to cook as great as her one day. she makes ordinary food the right way, completely from scratch. i have celiac disease. i take all of the recipes i used to like that i can't eat anymore and make substitutions with gluten free products.
My favorite things to cook
i love eating mexican food. i also like making sweets because i have a major sweet tooth. most of the time i will be cooking things that are comfort foods, the healthier way.
My favorite family cooking traditions
when i am at home i am always helping my mom in the kitchen. taking a lesson.
My cooking triumphs
i make a kickass peanut butter chocolate pie.
My cooking tragedies
vegitarian chili. i was cooking for veg. friends and i added entirely too much tomato paste in the pot. they ate it and said it was great. apparently vegetarians aren't picky. tzatakiki. i didn't know i was supposed to drain the yogurt. so it turned into a soup like dill fest. you learn from your mistakes.

Zucchini Herb Casserole
very good. the addition of a lot of mushrooms, nearly a whole package, made this dish. fresh tomatoes were vital. and i nearly trippled all of the spices. so my only neg. is that there should be a spice adjustment. it doesn't look like it is going to fit in the 1.5 quart dish but it does!

Potato Chip Cookies II
i made this exactly how stated but it turned out a mess. the chips became chewy (in a bad, stale-like, way) and the cookie did not hold up as one piece. not worth all of the calories.

Vegan Brownies
these look beautiful, but taste and texture, that is another story. these tasted like something i made in my easy-bake oven when i was five. they are not crumbly like other reviewers reported, but that could be because i used the reviewer reccomended recipe of using apple sauce. other than that i followed the directions. they were kind of gummy, not fudgy. they have brownie flavor though.
