Butter Icing for Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2009
I just this on drop sugar cookies and it came out perfectly! I doubled the recipe for about 60 cookies. I pot of hot water sitting in the sink in order to soften up the icing mid way through frosting! Great icing will use again on my sugar cookies!!! Set up hard enough to stack!

Taco Bake

Love this recipe! I added a can of diced tomatoes to this and a can of corn. The corn gave it a nice crunch. I also used ground turkey and it worked well. easy, fast delicious. Makes a BUNCH too!!! Good reheated and its kid friendly!!! Will make again. OH, I cut down the baking time to about 15 min and the simmer time to about 20...we were hungry.

Waldorf Salad II

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2009
I made this for my boyfriend who loved it and said it was like the salad his mom used to make. We added mini marshmellows and added about 1 tablespoon more sugar to the dressing! Thanks for helping me recreate a childhood dish for him!

Apple Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2009
HELLOOOO tipsy!! THis drink is awesome. I made a batch for my Thanksgiving and it was gone! I used one gallon of apple juice and 3 smaller contatiners of apple cider so I had a little more than 2 gallons of apple juice/cider. I also added a healthy splash of orange juice and some nutmeg, allspice, and whole cloves. A great recipe! I plan on bottling this for Christmas and giving it as a gift! Thanks for the recipe. Nice amount of booze for a party for about 30 bucks!

Scalloped Pineapple

Thanks SweetJam for the recipe. We loved it!! I used a little more than 4 cups of cubed bread since I cut up too much and I used 1 20oz can of crushed pineapple with the juice in it. Great recipe and goes well with Turkey!

Roasted Butternut Squash and Garlic Lasagna

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2009
I can't tell you all how good this was!!!! Let's just say that for Thanksgiving I had about 20 different things to eat and this was the only thing that was completely gone. Half the people there said this was their favorite. Here's what I did different: I used 12 noodles instead of 9 and dipped them in boiling water as some of the reviews said the noodles were too hard after baking. I also added more flour since my sauce was not thickening (about 2 tablespoons more). I also added one large sauteed onion to the garlic mix. This dish was beyond good and I'll be making it again and again. I was a little nervous about the heavy cream on top but it was great. I baked the lasagna for about 45 min total and then let it sit for a cpouple of hours (to be timed with dinner) and then warmed it up in the over before serving. BRAVO BRAVO BRAVO!!!!!

Key Lime Pie VII

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2009
Loved this pie!! Added 2 cans of the 10 oz milk and that was plenty (3 cups would have been too much). I also added about 2 tbsp extra of the lime juice. Baked for 10 min!! I didnt use fresh key limes but key lime juice that was from FL and 'all natural'. I'd spring for the stuff thats a little more expensice and not just 99 cent fake lime juice.

BBQ Bacon Ranch Dip

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2009
LOVE LOVE LOVE this dip. Made it as is. Its perfect. I let the ranch and cream cheese get aquainted for a couple of hours and then i assembled the rest. UPDATE I made this with cheap bbq sauce and ohhhh no. Make sure you use a thick bbq sauce. the thin stuff makes the consistency weird.

Mary's Roasted Red Pepper Dip

Reviewed: May 26, 2009
This was good but as written you wouldnt be able to taste the red peppers. I used a 10oz jar (and then one ADDITIONAL red pepper I had in a jar in the fridge) I used onion poweder and garlic powder. Also, i used about 2 tablespoons of mayo...not the full cup. and i pulsed the peppers and cream cheese in a food processor to get a nice creamy smooth texture. will definately make again!

Artichoke Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: May 12, 2009
I'd just like to add that sauteeing the caps mushrooms in some olive oil before baking makes them softer. Also, I added some more shredded cheese to the top before baking. Also cutting the bottoms of the mushroom caps to make them flush will keep the shrooms from toppling over. I usually dont have too much filling left over but that will depend on how big your mushrooms are. I try to get the container with the biggest mushrooms and stuff em way up high.

Chicago-Style Pan Pizza

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2009
I love Chicago style pizza..and although this isnt as good as the stuff they bring to my door (maybe bc like a sandwich, it'll always taste better if someone else makes it) I added some brown sugar to the tomatoes to cut down on the acidity. I used my cast iron and some refrigerated dough. Good recipe! and cheaper than the local deep dish place.
