About this Cook
I have always loved to cook, but I had let it slide in the last few years. I am now pregnant, and have rediscovered the kitchen! We have been experimenting with pressure cooking and canning. My nesting faze has lasted for the last 4 months. We have so many new bobells for the kitchen: bread machine, 23 liter pressure cooker/canner, convection rotisserie toaster oven....
My favorite things to cook
Anything that makes my husband rave on and on in French C'est bon, c'est tellement bon, c'est magnifique! That means any recipe we have found here and tried!
My favorite family cooking traditions
We keep changing ours!
My cooking triumphs
Pressure canning Leek and pumpkin soup, Boston Baked Beans, Habitant Pea Soup, Meat sauce, applesauce, apple jelly.... Anything taken from this site with 5 star rating.
My cooking tragedies
When I was 17, I did not know the difference between cooking wine and wine vinegar. I was making a romantic dinner, and my mother had laid out all the ingredients on my kitchen counter for me. For some reason, the wine vinegar was on the counter, and not the wine. I added 1/2 cup of the vinegar to the sauce. I burnt the garlic toast and somehow managed to botch the cesear salad (must have been because I was in total panic mode at that point). I must have done something right though: I ended up living with that guy for 6 years!

Best Carrot Cake Ever
my son gobbeled this up! Impressive for a 23 month old toddler. The only change I made was 1/2 cup applesauce a/2 cup oil. And I add ground cloves and nutmeg

Banana Banana Bread
Awesome! Great recipe to use up old bananas! Too bad my son devours all the bananas!

Caramel Apple Pork Chops
Easy to make. Either pan fry or put it in the oven. I will try this tonight with Filet of Pork. Make sure to have a piece of apple with every bite!
