Fiesta Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2007
I made this recipe when my husband brought over a friend after work and it was so delicious and I was quite surprised at how much so. They both raved over it and it was eaten right up. I left out the olives and used nacho chips instead of crackers. Definitely will make this again. Submitted on 5/13/2006

Chili-Cheese Dip

I took this to my mother in laws house for Labor Day and everyone loved it. I made two dishes and they were both gone in no time. Submitted on 9/7/2007 If taking to a party I'd suggest making at least 2 as it will go fast.

1,2,3 Chocolate Chunk Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2007
The first time I made these I made 2 batches and they were gone quickly with my family of 6. I packed a few in my husband's lunch and his friend/co worker ate some and loved them so when they went canoeing the other day his friend requested that I make them again :) So I did. Great recipe and so quick and easy. I used chocolate chips (semi sweet) and they worked perfectly. Submitted on 10/10/2007

Little Gems

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2007
Very good recipe. The family devoured it and wanted more. I used 2 packages of smokies and there was plenty of sauce leftover even still. I wanted to use the sauce so I ended up taking boneless/skinless chicken breasts and cubing it and cooking it in the sauce on medium heat. This would work great with meatballs also.

Sunday Chicken Supper

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2007
I thought this recipe was simple, easy and very good. I did make a couple of extra additions/substitutions however. I did use boneless/skinless chicken breasts, shredded carrots, french green beans, russet potatoes, onions, celery & garlic powder, salt, pepper, basil&thyme seasonings. I ended up doubling the water amount and bouillon and ultimately thought I'd like a sauce of some kind so I used leftover bacon drippings and added flour,1/2 milk & 1/2 remaining chicken broth from the crockpot (after it was complete)as well as some salt and it was a very good gravy to go over the vegetables. My husband and 4 children all enjoyed it. Thanks for the great recipe and the inspiration for the gravy :)

Ninety Minute Cinnamon Rolls

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2007
Our family loved these and I have to say I used 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast in place of the instant yeast packet and that seemed to do the trick thankfully. I was skeptical but I'm glad I did it anyway. I also used my kitchenaid mixer which was a nice help. Afer making these last night I decided to only bake 4 of them to see how they'd come out (because of the yeast alteration) they spread apart too much and didn't hold together in shape well but the others I left in the freezer overnight in the pan covered in plastic wrap and pulled out and put directly in the oven for 30 minutes and they came out perfect. I let the rest as someone else suggested for a few minutes to cool/firm up. They were absolutely great and perfect in flavor. Thanks so much for an excellent/easy recipe. I would imagine that pecans would be great on these.

Easter Breakfast Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2007
Very good! My family of 6 gobbled it right up. Thanks so much. The only thing that I did differently was add salt, pepper, garlic powder,1/2 cup of sour cream, tabasco sauce & I did precook and crumble the bacon and shredded my own potatoes and salt/peppered it and threw in oven prior to adding the mixture to the dish. Thanks to previous posters whom mentioned to cook the bacon and potatoes first and layer the potatoes on the bottom. Everything came out perfectly. The only thing that I'd change is the name of this casserole :)

Outrageous Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2007
A great alternative to regular chocolate chip cookies. We really enjoyed them and especially love that they do not spread out like some cookies do. I am more of a cookie lover of the crisp outside but soft/chewy inside but still enjoyed the cookie and would definitely make again. After sitting the cookie gets a little crispy but I would imagine if you threw in a slice of bread in a sealed container with the cookies that it'd help with that issue. We only have a few left lol so I am not concerned. I am just thankful for the great recipe.

Portuguese Sweet Bread I

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2007
Wonderful recipe! Perfect amount of sweetness as stated before. I am so happy to have this recipe thank you for sharing. It's simple and easy to follow even without a breadmaker. I used my kitchen aid dough hook and mixed all ingredients and allowed to rise for 1 hr and then punched down and shaped into rolls and let rise for another 15 minutes. They were wonderful. My family all enjoyed them and they were gone quick. Thanks to previous reviewers as well for tips on using the kitchen aid, making rolls and using all purpose flour(as a substitute). I can't wait to do more with the recipe. Thanks so much for sharing. Update: 12/15/08 I made these again last night and have made them numerous times. We love these rolls. I have made the dough in the bread machine and in the mixer with dough hook and both work great. The mixer is quick and easy. Just Warm the Milk add the yeast and sugar and allow to proof until foamy (10 mins or so) and then throw in the rest of the ingredients and mix and form into rolls or bread loaf. Allow to rise for about 30 mins-1hr and then Bake at 350 F for about 20 minutes or until lightly browned. I usually butter the tops also. My husband says these would be great with Jelly the next morning. This recipe makes 12 rolls.

Pasta e Olio

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2007
This recipe was really simple and tasty. I didn't have the parsley and I'm sure I was missing some real flavor but even without it I'd recommend it. I used a different shaped pasta and added about 1/2 cup of Parmesean Cheese to it. Very tasty. I may even add more cayenne next time. Thanks for the recipe :)

Marinated Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2007
Very Good Recipe! My husband really enjoyed the flavor that the marinade created and said he's going to request this be made again soon. FYI: I didn't have any Sherry so Instead I used Pineapple Juice and added Pineapples to my marinade. It turned out wonderfully. The only thing I plan on doing next time is just doubling the recipe to cover the meat more. I soaked mine in the marinade for 48 hrs. Thank You for Posting this recipe :)

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2007
I seem to be the odd woman out on this recipe. It was edible and ok but honestly I've tasted better brownies. I was not in the least impressed and will not make again. I followed the directions and am not a novice so I'm not sure if it's personal preference or what. I ate one piece and hated the icing so I scraped that off. I even followed the suggestions of cutting 1/2 the powdered sugar. I didn't think it had enough sweet flavor or something (the brownie that is) I am not sure what was missing for me but something definitely wasn't there that I was looking for in my brownie.

Golden Potato Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2007
Excellent Soup! I loved the combination of flavors. It was perfect for a nice cold day. MMM MMM comfort food :) Thank you so much for the recipe. I adjusted it to feed 4 since my other kids are at school during our lunch time. The only thing that I did differently was add 2 slices of American Cheese and about a cup of shredded sharp cheddar cheese &thyme instead of parsley as that was what I had on hand. I also used 1 TSP of chicken bouillon granules instead of cubes. Will definitely make this again.

Chinese Chicken Fried Rice II

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2007
Very flavorful. My family enjoyed it and the only thing we did was cut the pepper in 1/2 and added a little more soy sauce (our preference). Thank you so much for a great tasting meal. I have my own recipe was too lazy to make it and wanted an easier one. :) I think this makes more than 3 servings also. I have a family of 6 and I'd say it'd for sure feed 4 to 6 people depending on portions. Thanks for sharing your recipe.

Uncle Bill's Sweet and Sour Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2007
I altered this a bit due to other reviewers. I added 1/2 cup vinegar instead of 1 cup and still next time I think I'd use a little less than 1/2 cup. I tasted the vinegar and my husband hates vinegar taste lol so I added more sugar and he says it was the perfect amount of sweet/sour. I would say that I added an extra 1/3 cup of sugar to mine. My husband and children loved it. It's not like my all time favorite restaurant's sauce but it isn't meant to be so it's definitely a good and easy sauce to make. I would make it again. Thank you so much for sharing it.

Buffalo Chicken Dip

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2007
Very good. I did as suggested and layered instead of mixed it altogether but then ultimately just ended up mixing it altogether anyway and it's just as good either way IMO. We're taking this for a thanksgiving dip tomorrow. Yum! Thanks much!
