Chocolate Chip Banana Bread II

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2009
Wonderful recipe! I'm so glad I tried this on as there are numerous banana bread recipes on here. I will definitely make this one again. I used butter instead of shortening and also substituted one cup of whole wheat flour for one of the cups of flour. Followed the rest of the directions and it turned out great! Wasn't quite sure of the mayonnaise, but the bread was wonderful. My whole family loved it - including four kids aged 3 to 9.

Garlic Mashed Red Potatoes

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2009
Great recipe! Was in a hurry and didn't read the directions - just the ingredients. So I crushed the garlic in my garlic press and added it after the potatoes were cooked. Also, used a bit of 1/2 & 1/2 as well as the milk. They turned out great!

Cottage Cheese Chicken Enchiladas

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2009
OK, these were awesome! My husband LOVES them! He doesn't want me to go back to my old chicken enchilada recipe. I might try experimenting with it a little in the future. My four kids (ages 3 to 9) all ate it up too. I didn't make it too spicy though so that they would eat it!

Honey Fruit Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2009
This was pretty good. I enjoy using raw local honey in recipes so I was excited to find a fruit salad recipe that called for honey. The honey dressing is light - so it makes a nice, light salad. I will keep this one in mind.

Crustless Spinach Quiche

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2009
This was a great basic quiche. I needed something quick and easy and that called for ingredients I had on hand. I used fresh spinach and just cooked it up with the onion. I also had a little cottage cheese that I threw in as well as shredded mozzerella and mild cheddar. Came out great!

Awesome Honey Pecan Pork Chops

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2009
These were really good! I was looking for a new recipe for pork chops...this is one I'll go back to often. I did add some chopped onion to the honey and pecans and let it reduce down. So good! My husband really enjoyed them and even ate them for leftovers at work a few days later...and he rarely enjoys leftovers!

Sweet Banana Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2008
This was great! I changed a couple things...used instant vanilla pudding mix (tasted great), didn't have shortening so used butter (turned out well) and decreased the amount of salt since the butter was salted. I really like this recipe and will definitely make it again! Thank you!

Oven Roasted Red Potatoes and Asparagus

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2008
Just tried it once...will try again. I like the idea, mine just didn't turn out the way I expected. Maybe less oil - the potatoes were somewhat mushy, not crispy. **Just tried it again tonight - I do like this recipe, but still wish the potatoes were crispy. Tonight though I did cut back on the oil and used just as much as the recipe calls for, also added some chopped onions and minced garlic - that added some great flavor. We love asparagus so I was happy for find another recipe for it.

Yellow Squash Casserole

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2008
Very good and relatively easy! My boys ate it better this way than the plain old way I had been preparing squash and zucchini. I did use two yellow squash and two zucchini for this recipe. I also added real bacon bits to the veggies while they were cooking...very good! Would probably add even more bacon the next time.

French Toast I

This is a great basic french toast recipe. I like the added vanilla...never did that before. Also, a pinch of salt...hadn't done that before either. The egg to milk ratio is great.

Quick and Easy Goulash

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2008
The recipe was fine, just not our taste. I did follow the suggestion to use some spices while browing the meat - that helped. Also threw the onion in with the meat. It made a good, hearty winter evening's meal.

Banana Sour Cream Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2007
Pretty good, but not my favorite banana bread recipe. I made three large loaves with this recipe. Probably would have added more bananas - to give it more banana flavor. (As it was I used 7.) Liked the idea of adding sour cream to give it a different flavor. Might try this again, but will keep looking for that perfect banana bread recipe.

Pumpkin Cake III

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2007
This is very good and was loved by everyone following our Christmas dinner. I followed other reviewer's suggestions and put 3/4 cup of oil and 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce instead of all that oil. I also added a tad of nutmeg (maybe would have experiemented with more spices if I had the time). Made it in a bundt pan which took longer to bake, but it came out beautifully. Also, used the Cream Cheese Frosting II from this site. Turned out great! Will definitely make again!

Melt In Your Mouth Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2007
This recipe is awesome. I made it to go along with our Thanksgiving dinner and everyone loved it! The coconut pudding is wonderful. There's just a hint of the taste in there - definitely not overpowering. You need to try it before switching to vanilla pudding. I did follow some other reviewer's suggestions and added 2 tsp. of the baking powder. Also substituted half of the flour with whole wheat. The bread is very moist so I did cut down on the oil to just one cup. Added plenty of cinnamon and a little nutmeg for a tiny extra spice...it was fabulous. I even impressed my mother-in-law who is a great cook!

Slow Cooker Barbecue Goose Sandwich

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2007
Wow! This recipe is fantastic. My husband and I wanted to try something different with the goose he brought home from hunting. I came right to this website, found this website and tried it out that day. AWESOME! Probably won't fix goose any other way. I followed the recipe as is. We love it with KC Masterpiece Original BBQ Sauce. Just make sure the sauce is room temp. or warm. I served it right out of the refrigerator and it made for cold sandwiches. Oh well! They were delicious anyway. I think my husband ate three that night!

Hawaiian Banana Nut Bread

This bread is wonderful! I'm so glad I tried this recipe. I wanted a change from the normal banana bread. I will definitely make it again. I barely tweaked the recipe with great results...just substituted some of the flour with healthier wheat flour. Loved it!

Sauteed Garlic Asparagus

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2007
Awesome! This is how I usually prepare asparagus. Fast and easy! I didn't have fresh garlic so I used minced - still very tasty. Also, I usually top it off with Kraft's grated 3 cheese blend. Wow! Of course, remember that the skinnier the asparagus stalks the better! They're nice and tender crisp.

Normal Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2007
This recipe is very easy and very good. I read some of the other reviews and tweaked mine a bit as well. I had 6 boneless skinless chicken breasts so I almost doubled the recipe for the sauce. I used 6 Tbsp. of soy sauce and 3 Tbsp. of Worcestershire sauce. Then I added a cup of brown sugar, some minced garlic, some minced onion and a dash of black pepper. I had to increase the baking time to an hour and a half since I had so many chicken breasts. It was awesome! My husband and young children loved it. We ate it with sauteed garlicky asparagus (from this website). Yum!
