I just recently took an interest in cooking, although my partner Carol has been doing it for awhile. She helps me out while I'm still getting oriented in the kitchen! We are the only two to feed on a day to day basis, as the rest of our family consists of furry creatures who are not allowed to have human food. Now if I find some recipes for cat, dog, or rat food, I might have to check those out...
My favorite things to cook
Italian. It's usually so easy, what with the boiling water, and I like easy and fast. My favorite of all favorites is mac & cheese; it has been my comfort food through many a stressful situation.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Mom's corn recipe - I'm sure I'll be adding that one - which she would make for every event ever. I come from a long line of non-cooks, and this is really pretty much the best (almost only) thing she ever makes that I really like a lot. G-maw's yummy chocolate pies also win.
My cooking triumphs
BOILING WATER! Go me!! No, really, I haven't been cooking for very long, but the few recipes I do know (like the afore mentioned corn recipe) always are well-received.
My cooking tragedies
I haven't been cooking long enough for anything too tragic to happen. Um . . . I reheated leftovers once and accidentally hit an extra zero on the microwave. The bread turned into a rock. It was awesome.
