About this Cook
I love to cook! At least when my kitchen is cleaned up enough to pick up. My favorite thing to do is to experiment with new recipes and try different things. I am not much on creating something on my own.
My favorite things to cook
Spaghetti and Meatballs. Everyone loves them. Even though I use premade spaghetti sauce, the meatballs are what makes it!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Eating dinner together.
My cooking triumphs
Making a designer cake that was absolutely amazing, and a work of art to look at! I took it to a party and everyone wanted to know where I had bought it, it was fun to tell them that I made it myself!!!
My cooking tragedies
When I was 7 months pregnant with my twins I had just boiled red potatoes for potato salad. Home made is the ONLY way to go for potato salad! So I went to drain out the potatoes and the boiling water spilled out onto my very pregnant belly... None the less I had 2nd degree burns 12 inches across my tummy. All turned out ok, and the potato salad still got made. But it really hurt!

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffins
Really good recipe, I didn't have all the spices on hand, but had the Pumpkin Pie Spice, substituted brown sugar for the white sugar, and increased the pumpkin to 1 cup! I also doubled the batch and did a test. I made half plain and the other half with a big handful of cocunut! WOW- delicious dessert muffin that would pair nicely with a warm cup of coffee in front of the fire place with a good book!

Beer Bread II
My family absolutely loves this recipe contrary to some of the other reviews. We always make it with Corona beer and it compares to Tastefully Simple's mix. All of my friends love this one too. And one bag of self rising flour will make 6 loaves of this wonderful bread. Leftover bread can also be cut into cubes to make bread crumbs- just spray with butter and sprinkle with your favorite season and bake for about 20 minutes at 350!

Mom's Best Waffles
Our Family enjoyed this recipe. The only thing that I changed is to add 1 tsp vanilla to the mix. I also mix up the dry ingredients, add the milk, vanilla, and egg yolks. In a separate bowl I beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form, then fold them into wet ingredients. I believe that this is the key to fluffy and crisp waffles.
