You've got to try this Spinach Pie!

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2009
I love this spinach pie recipe. It's really one of the only ways I eat spinach. My MIL just tried it subbing 1/2 lb cooked chopped bacon for the sausage and she said it was even better! I can't even imagine! It's on my to do list now. ;)

Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2009
These were really good! I needed something quick and not too involved to bring to a family function..and this was perfect! I left out the nuts due to allergies and added 1/2 cup of toffee chips. I also cut the recipe in 1/2 and used one 9 x 13" pyrex dish to bake. It took a total of 23 min to bake. They were soft, chewy, and very sweet, but so good! I'l be making these again for sure!

No Roll Pie Crust II

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2009
I think for a fast pie crust w/o the worry of rolling, it's really good. I was concerned it would be too oily, but it turned out quite nice. Had a nice flavor and was flaky. I did add 1/2 tsp of butter flavor to it, but otherwise followed it exactly. I used this for apple pie since I failed miserably rolling out a traditional crust! I'll use this one again :)

Barbeque Pork Two Ways

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2009
This was very moist and flavorful. I had a 7 1/2 lb pork shoulder picnic (bone in) that I used. I put the whole thing in the slow cooker. I wouldn't recommend this specific cut of meat as it was quite time consuming shredding it and yeilds a lot less meat than I thought it would. That said, it worked in a pinch and the taste was great! I had to add a about a cup of Sweet Baby Rays BBQ sauce cause I didn't have quite enough ketchup for the amount of pork I had. It's very good and flavorful once you add the sauce back to the shredded pork. I still have alot of sauce left over. :)

Garden Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2009
I had trouble w/ the carrots cooking in the amount of time the recipe called for. It took at least 40 min for them to be tender, and I chopped them fairly small. I would recommend dicing them instead. I would also recommend not adding the flour to the veggies first. Next time I make this, I'll add the stock (I used stock in place of boullion & water) to the veggies and simmer till tender. Then, stir the flour into the milk and add that to the soup along w/ the cheese. This will allow more time if needed for the veggies to cook w/o affecting the texture, as I noticed the soup was slightly grainy from having to cook it too long. Otherwise, the taste was lovely and my children went back for seconds. :) ETA: I also thought 2/3 cup of flour was alot. It could probably be cut back to 1/3 cup w/ success. :)

Graham Cracker Crust

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2009
Excellent, simple, basic graham cracker crust. I used this for the Toll House Pie I recipe here and it was perfect. I didn't prebake as my pie had to bake anyway. So I just popped it in the fridge for 30 min before filling. OH! Fabulous!

Toll House Pie I

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2009
So I've made this twice. The first time there was just way too much butter. Hubby and I use to get toll house pie at a restaurant we would go to frequently when we were dating & first married. I wanted something less gooey. The taste was there... but the texture was off from all that butter. Also, the pie we're use to had a graham cracker crust. So the next time I made it I cut the butter down to 1/2 cup and didn't melt it. I softened it (It was very soft..some of it melted). I made Graham Cracker Crust from this site first and pressed that in my pie plate and let it sit in the fridge for 30 min before I filled it. Baked for about 55 min (last 10 cover w/ foil) and it was perfect! Still nice & moist. With these modifications, it's a 5 star recipe..but as is, 4 stars.

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2009
I so wish I could have given this 4 1/2 stars! I really think it deserves more than 4, but I just couldn't give it 5. See, the thing is, I love salt. But even for me this was a bit too salty. I would cut back on the salt definitely. Also, I prefer more ricotta in my lasagna. Otherwise, super tasty and will certainly make again w/ those modifications. :-)

Chip Chicken Lollipops

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2009
This was ok, but I was expecting better considering the rating. I even dipped it in italian dressing before coating it and although it helped add flavor, the chicken wasn't crispy which turned us off a bit. If I'm going to eat something that obviously not healthy, I want it to be worth my while. ;) sorry!

Crispy Fried Chicken

Reviewed: May 18, 2009
This was pretty good, definitly crispy! I still think the recipe could use some tweaking as it was a bit bland. I fried my drumsticks in my deep fryer @ 375 degrees for about 14 min and they were done perfectly. :)

Quick and Easy Pizza Crust

Reviewed: May 13, 2009
Wow! This is some tasty crust! It was nice and chewy, not tough at all. I doubled the recipe for my large family and used rapid rise yeast. I added about 2 tsp italian seasoning and 1 tsp garlic powder to the oil before adding it to the dough. The smell was fabulous and just what we were looking for in a homemade pizza dough. Hubby usually leaves the crust behind, but he ate every bit this time and said he could eat more...if there were any left. ;)

Easy Pizza Sauce III

Reviewed: May 13, 2009
Awsome sauce! It's thick enough to stand up to your toppings and has really nice flavor. I added 1 tsp of sugar and was out of paprika so I didn't add that. (I couldn't believe I was out!!) Super quick..took like 2 min and I have plenty to freeze for at least 2 more pizzas..maybe more. :) I"ll be making this from now on.

Actually Delicious Turkey Burgers

Reviewed: May 10, 2009
These were very good! I've never had a turkey burger I liked, but I'm sold on these. Even my VERY picky 3 yr old ate it! It was so nice to sit at the dinner table w/ my 5 children and hubby and not hear one complaint! That's worth more than 5 stars in my book! I only had 1/2 the turkey, and I actually forgot about this while I was making them and ended up adding the same amount of ingredients to it. oops! I also ran out of bread crumbs (grrr!) so I seasoned some panko crumbs and used those instead. Then I coated the outside of the formed burgers in the seasoned panko crumbs. Delicious!! A keeper for sure. My hubby said he enjoyed these just as much, if not more, than regular burgers! Oh yeah...I took the advice of others and added a few dashes of low sodium soy sauce and worcestershire sauce. :)

Pistachio Fruit Salad

mmmm! just like I remember. :) I didn't have sugar free pistachio pudding, so I used regular and it worked out fine. I also like marshmallows & coconut in mine, but didn't add them because hubby prefers it w/o. ;)

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough + Cupcake = The BEST Cupcake. Ever.

OH MY!! A sweet little treasure inside these cupcakes makes me smile! I love cookies. I mean really, they're possibly the best thing ever..and to combine them w/ a cupcake. True genius! Way to go LTH! I got 25 cookie dough balls and only made 23 cuppies. I was a bit more generous w/ my batter. ;) A keeper for sure. Want to impress the school kids or your family? These are the ones!

Melt-In-Your-Mouth Meat Loaf

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2009
I wasn't sure how good this would be since it seemed very moist when I put it in the crock. But, it was very good! I could have used a leaner ground beef, but all I had was 80% (which is what I normally use for hamburgers). That being said, it was still really good. Next time I make it I'll use a lean ground beef to cut down on the fat. ;)

Ninety Minute Cinnamon Rolls

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2009
SOOO good! I wish I could say mine came out as pretty as the picture, but I didn't take them out when I should have (busy w/ the kids) and they were a bit dark. But still, amazing! I frosted them w/ cream cheese frosting. Mine took longer to rise (about 50 min) but that's ok. Will be making these again for sure!

Butternut Squash Bisque

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2009
Fantastic! I roasted my squash and added it to the soup when the carrots were just about tender. Left out the cream and also sauted the onion w/ cooking spray to save on fat & calories. So good..a nice delicate flavor. Not too strong which was a true joy after a few nights of spicy mexican food. :) My children enjoyed it as well (surprisingly) and my 18 month old devoured 2 bowls!

Chicken Spaghetti II

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2009
I personally would give this 5 stars. My children gave it an average of 4 though. It's got a little heat to it. I love that...my children don't. That being said, I made it as written w/ the exception of using elbow macaroni instead of spaghetti because it's all I had. I used 16 oz of macaroni as well. It's the perfect combo...and I topped w/ crushed buttery garlic club crackers (mixed w/ about 3 Tbsp melted butter) and popped it in the oven at 350 for 15 min. YUMMM!
