About this Cook
I love to cook and bake for my husband and five children! I've learned so much from watching others cook and hearing how they change a recipe to fit their needs. I'm not afraid to go for it, even if I don't have exactly what a recipe calls for. The Food Network and Allrecipes has really made me a worry free cook! On another note, I just started my own business called Lilly & Tucker ~ Handmade Bonnets and Hats for Babies and Toddlers! (email me for details: LTbonnets07@aol.com). I'm also a former cake artist.
My favorite things to cook
I get great satisfaction when I cook something that was worth the time and effort...and mess. I'm a messy cook! I make a great desert called flim flam and some pretty fabulous baked stuffed chops.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love to pop in some great music...like Dean Martin or Swing and make cookies like my mom and I use to do when I was growing up! Although, I try not to do that too often since homemade cookies are just about my favorite thing on earth! I can't stay away...which seriously makes my waist line suffer!
My cooking triumphs
I make a nice potato salad that never goes to waste...but I consider my greatest triumph to be a clean kitchen by the time I'm done!
My cooking tragedies
I tried this recipe once ( can't remember exactly what it was ) and it was horrible! I think I got it off the back of a condensed soup can label. All that time wasted! I hate that! That's why I love allrecipes.com! I can choose my recipes by ratings and I'm never disappointed!

Graham Cracker Crust
Excellent, simple, basic graham cracker crust. I used this for the Toll House Pie I recipe here and it was perfect. I didn't prebake as my pie had to bake anyway. So I just popped it in the fridge for 30 min before filling. OH! Fabulous!

Toll House Pie I
So I've made this twice. The first time there was just way too much butter. Hubby and I use to get toll house pie at a restaurant we would go to frequently when we were dating & first married. I wanted something less gooey. The taste was there... but the texture was off from all that butter. Also, the pie we're use to had a graham cracker crust. So the next time I made it I cut the butter down to 1/2 cup and didn't melt it. I softened it (It was very soft..some of it melted). I made Graham Cracker Crust from this site first and pressed that in my pie plate and let it sit in the fridge for 30 min before I filled it. Baked for about 55 min (last 10 cover w/ foil) and it was perfect! Still nice & moist. With these modifications, it's a 5 star recipe..but as is, 4 stars.

World's Best Lasagna
I so wish I could have given this 4 1/2 stars! I really think it deserves more than 4, but I just couldn't give it 5. See, the thing is, I love salt. But even for me this was a bit too salty. I would cut back on the salt definitely. Also, I prefer more ricotta in my lasagna. Otherwise, super tasty and will certainly make again w/ those modifications. :-)
