I'm a 20 year old student in Ellensburg currently assembling a recipe-swap book from multiple generations made even more interesting by a parent's recent remarriage to a woman in rural Pennsylvania. Amish food!
My favorite things to cook
Soups and stews.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Casseroles. My mother grew up poor (4 sisters sharing 2 rooms, grandma and grandpa on the hide-a-bed in the living room, 750 sq. ft).
My cooking triumphs
I spent last Thanksgiving in Leavenworth, WA with my roommate and her grandparents. She was in charge of the turkey and I was in charge of the stuffing. She and her brother apparently hate stuffing, but went back for more of mine.
My cooking tragedies
I once cooked a soup with some funny cheap fish and it had a really dense spine. The bones were all floating around in the soup. It was tasty, but rather challenging to eat.
