Shrimp Lemon Pepper Linguini

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2009
I made Gina's Lemon Pepper chicken the night before and had plenty of leftovers. So, I cut up the chicken and added it to this pasta instead of the shrimp and it was fantastic! The only other change that I made was that I omitted the white wine, because we just didn't have any and added just a little more chicken broth and lemon juice. The whole family loved this and there were no leftovers this time around!

Old Settlers' Baked Beans

Cooked bacon and set aside while I cooked the ground beef and onions, then added it all to the crock pot for several hours. They were good...but the next day, they were wonderful!

Very good flavor! I used a 12 oz bag of baby carrots and the same amount of butter and brown sugar and they tasted great! Not too sweet at all.

Cream Cheese Pound Cake III

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2009
This cake was absolutely wonderful! I believe that the secret to this recipe is to make sure that your ingredients are at room temperature. I used my stand mixer, and it was so easy! This is the only pound cake recipe I'll ever use from now on!

Grilled Corn on the Cob

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2009
Did as the other reviewers suggested and soaked the corn in water for a couple of hours. Then I cooked them in the smoker and when they came out, seasoned them as suggested. My husband ate four pieces by himself, and I can't usually get him to eat vegetables!

Corn Dog Muffins

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2009
These were pretty good. The recipe made more than 18, but I didn't cut the hot dogs up in small pieces. It would've been better to cut them in small pieces, because the breading just fell off when you tried to pick it up. Really good flavor, though.

Easy Slow Cooker French Dip

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2009
This had a wonderful flavor but I think rump roast is the wrong cut of meat. I had to modify the ingredients based on what I had on hand. I boiled 3 beef boullion cubes and 12 oz. of water. I mixed a package of french onion dip powdered mix with a can of golden mushroom soup, I added that with a bottle of Amber Bock and the beef broth to the crock pot and let it cook for about 5 hours on low. Took it out and let it rest for a few minutes, then sliced it in small thin pieces and added it back to the juices for one more hour. Then made the sandwiches as the recipe suggests. I made french onion soup with the remaining broth, the next day...now that was awesome!

I made this for a party at work and everyone loved it! I doubled the dressing and it was perfect. The only complaint that I had was the leftovers were not good, but I guess that should be expected.

Pretty Chicken Marinade

Reviewed: May 27, 2009
I had to use vegetable oil, because I had run out of olive oil, but other than that I followed the recipe. It came out wonderfully! I marinated it for about 5-6 hours and it was perfect! Will only use this marinade recipe from now on.

Apple Crisp II

This turned out really good. I tried to double the crisp part of it, which I doubled the water that went into it, too, and I shouldn't have done that. It had a wonderful flavor, though and we loved it!

Pork Chops a la Slow Cooker

Reviewed: May 15, 2009
Best pork chops I've ever had! I didn't bread them, because I thought it would be a pointless waste of time. But, I did brown them on the stove with salt, pepper and garlic powder before putting them in the crock pot. I did 6 chops with the bone and 10 small chops without the bone and 1 large can of chicken and rice soup and half of a can of water (I was feeding six). They cooked all day (about 9 hrs.) and they were so perfect!

Candied Kielbasa

Reviewed: May 13, 2009
I changed it up a little bit because my husband doesn't care for horseradish, so I had to trick him. Instead of horseradish, I added Jack Daniels Horseradish mustard, cut the brown sugar in half and the used half barbecue and half catsup (because I ran out of catsup) and about 1/8 tsp of cayenne pepper. I baked it at 350 for 1 hour, stirring it half way through and it turned out wonderfully delicious!

Salsa Chicken Burrito Filling

Reviewed: May 6, 2009
I did as recommended by others. I took 5 frozen chicken breast and put them in the crockpost with 1.5 times more of the sauce. The chicken didn't pull apart as anticipated, but I still had very good end result. I filled tortilla shells, put them in my baking dish and covered with the remaining sauce (which I strained) and then piled on the cheeese and baked in the oven at 350 for about 15 minutes. It was very, very good!
