I made this recipe and took it to potluck. Even with the variety of wonderful food there, my whole 9x13" casserole was gone. However, I would not make this recipe again. I follow the suggestions given by others. I used the 16 oz. cheddar cheese, the garlic mushroom soup, fresh broccoli and steam the rice on 4 cups of vegetable broth. The cost for this recipe was approximately $13. Cheddar cheese, $4.68; soup, $1.25; fresh broccoli $3.18; vegetable broth, $2.48. Rice and onion were the two other mayor ingredients.

This makes a great appetizer at any party. Easy on the salsa picante as the green chilies are already spicy. I found that to cut them perfectly one has to first roll them and wrap them in Saran wrap and refrigerate for approximately 2 hours. Take the Saran wrap off and cut . They are just perfect.

This is a great recipe. It is simple and easy to remember. But not only that, I had received many compliments and people ask me how I made it. When they find out how to make it they will bring share it with others at potluck. My sister-in-law made a variation of it but it was not as good as doing it like the recipe says.
