About this Cook
In 27+ years of marriage I've rarely cooked. My husband, who's an awesome cook has always done it. For the last 6 months he's been suffering from severe arthitis of the hip, and recently had hip replacement, so I've taken over the shopping and the kitchen. I had no idea how much fun it would be. I'm LOVING it! I'm starting to get creative - making my own additions to or altering recipes. I love making everything from scratch.
My favorite things to cook
Grilling is great - steaks, fish, chicken, veggies. And salads - I love making my own dressings. Pizza on Friday night - I make the dough from scratch.
My cooking triumphs
After all these years of hating to cook and thinking I couldn't - I AM and I'm loving it!
My cooking tragedies
I once made my special macaroni and cheese to take to a friend who had just had surgery. It was only thing I could make well and feel good about taking to someone else. For some reason though, this one turned out like a giant hockey puck! Not what I'd call a tradgey, but not one of my finest efforts. My husband ended up making a wonderful meal that we took to my friend.

Chicken with Lemon-Caper Sauce
Super easy and fast - nice and tangy! I served the chicken on a bed of noodles with steamed sugar snap peas and it was great.

Grilled Lemon Chicken
Really nice! This one's a keeper. I added hot pepper flakes to the marinade for a little extra zing and served it with stir fried brocoli.

Gazpacho III
I made this last night with tomatoes from our garden. It's nice and chunky. The only thing I'd add next time would be something to spice it up a little more. Otherwise it's a great receipe.
