I started out just doing our family's grilling; but I started expanding my capabilities when I became a full-time firefighter. In the 2nd interview I was asked if I could cook, and informed that dumping a jar of spaghetti sauce on noodles doesn't count as cooking. Started with found recipes, now I'm making up my own and getting great reviews from 5 hungry guys at the station...
My favorite things to cook
Lots of Italian & Chinese style foods, with some Cajun thrown in for variety.
My cooking triumphs
Everyone loves Coronary Artery Disease Night at the station. 3/4 lb burgers stuffed with pepper bacon & cheese, topped with more bacon & cheese...accompanied by cheesy hash browns fried in the bacon grease. It's a good thing we have a workout room at the station!
My cooking tragedies
Never try to rush a roast, and that's all I'm going to say about that.
