Chocolate Brittle Surprise

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2009
Everyone loved this, but I am going to try combining semi-sweet and milk chocolate chips next time. I typically do that in choc. chip cookies too, so maybe it's just my personal affinity for that balance of almost too bitter and almost too sweet. Still, great recipe and sooooo easy to make!

No Fail Pound Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2009
Contrary to naples34102's opinion, in my opinion, I think this was a vast improvement on a plain cake mix (I used BUTTERY yellow). It got rave reviews at a church fellowship; no one guessed it was from a box. I didn't have any lemon extract, so I tried almond. I had just under a teaspoon left in the bottle, but used it anyway. It gave just a hint of something that made it taste DELISH! In my oven, I did only need to bake it about 50-55 minutes. Thanks for a great way to dress up a cake mix! I'm adding lemon extract to my grocery list so I can try it that way next time!

Giant Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: May 23, 2009
I'm not sure what is different about this recipe, but this was the best chocolate chip cookie I've ever made. I don't have a pizza pan, so I made it "bar" style in a 9x13 glass dish. It was pretty thick and took a while to get the center done, but turned out great!

Gooey Butter Cake III

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2009
This cake was YUMMY!! The only cream cheese I had on hand was the cinnamon swirl, and it had even been used, so it wasn't full. I added a little extra cinnamon to the cake mixture and threw in a half bag of chocolate chips. I'm sure the recipe as-is is still delicious, but using what I had on hand, it still turned out amazing!

Mama D's Italian Bread

Great recipe! I've only just started making my own bread recently, so I have read a lot of advice that others give. I found that adding as much flour as needed until it was smooth and stiff worked well. Advice from my early failed attempts: Be sure water is hot enough (appr. 110), and knead for 7-10 minutes. I also substituted 2 cups of whole wheat flour which turned out great!

Laura's Quick Slow Cooker Turkey Chili

Delish! I love it! I didn't use all the beans and backed off a little on the spices since I have toddlers, but the tomato soup was a new chili ingredient for me and I loved it.

Simple Spinach Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2007
Delish! I loved the combination of vegetables not typical to a spinach salad. However, I did not use the dressing recipe. I was in a hurry and just used Ken's Lite Raspberry Walnut, drizzled and tossed. It was a great hit.
