About this Cook
I am a happily married mom! My husband's job as a Marine helicopter pilot defines who we are as a family as we've been married for six years and are about to move to our 8th home! We have a three month old son who we adore and who completes our lives. We also tolerate our silly six pound poodle! I am a stay at home mom now, after spending five years working in education.
My favorite things to cook
I love making all breakfast foods, Italian dishes, soups and stews. We are real comfort food people. I'm also getting more into fish and figuring out what to do with the produce I buy at the farmer's market.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love cooking with my mom and sister for Thanksgiving. We really don't make show-stopping dishes, but enjoy spending time together. I also have started making hot chocolate to give to family and friends for Christmas!
My cooking triumphs
Everytime a new recipe goes over well with my family!
My cooking tragedies
Nothing major. Too much dill can ruin a chicken soup!

Rosemary Turkey Meatloaf
This is my go-to meatloaf recipe. I've made it for family members on diets (and told them to limit the sauce) and everyone is surprized how flavorful it is. It's often a little too soft, but no one here minds.

Black Bean, Corn and Turkey Chili
I made the recipe exactly. It was good, I think. The sugar seemed to overwhelm the dish. It wasn't a true chili or what I hoped it would be.

Velvety Pumpkin Soup With Blue Cheese and Bacon
This is delicious and very easy. It actually tastes expensive, great for entertaining before a meat dish.
