About this Cook
I love it when people walk into my home and smile. They follow their noses into my kitchen and start getting their hands smacked...hehe Cooking is one of my many loves in life and I intend it to be a very long affair. My passion for food helps me through life. It brings love, hope, laughter and happiness to myself and my family.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake pretty much anything with yeast. I spend a lot of time making appetizers and desserts. I also love trying out different things that are portable so that my girls and husband can take them to school or work. It's amazing what you can put in a lunchbox if your creative enough.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I am trying to start new traditions with my girls because my family doesn't really have many. I love baking with my daughters. They get their aprons and hats on and their rolling pins out, yes they have mini ones just for them, haha and we have a blast.
My cooking triumphs
My fudge! I will have to say that finding the time and energy to cook something new every other day is a triumph for me. I love it so much and it is very comforting but with such a crazy life sometimes it's easier to make the same old thing.
My cooking tragedies
Haha..cinnamon rolls...I first tried them when I was 12 and forgot the yeast. My dad is so sweet he tried to eat them even though I am sure they tasted horrible.

Baked Asparagus with Balsamic Butter Sauce
I enjoyed the asparagus but the balsamic butter sauce left much to be desired. I found that it was much too bitter.

Drop Biscuits and Gravy
We have made these a few times now and we love them. We have made the biscuits but have found that we like them our own better. The gravy on the other hand is wonderful. We have used different flavors of sausage and it comes out yummy evry time. Our favoirte is habanero sausage..omg so good. It has become a staple in our home. Thanks so much!
