About this Cook
I am from deep south Louisiana and I am Cajun. Growing up in a huge family that loves to cook I have been helping in the kitchen since a toddler. I love cooking and have traveled around to get new recipes. I even lived in Mexico for 2 years and picked up authentic Mexican recipes. I love baking and southern dishes. I excel in homemade pies and southern classics. I am always trying new recipes and something new. My motto is you should always try something twice because nothing ever tastes exactly the same.
My favorite things to cook
I love and I mean LOVE pies. I have a few people addicted to my Lemon Meringue and No bake cherry cheesecake pies. I am constently baking and making desert. I also love to cook southern dishes and simple, easy and tasty things for my kids.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every Sunday after church my family would get together at my grandmothers house and cook a huge southern supper. Now with my grandmother too old and ill to cook and myself moved away, I love to cook almost every night for my family.
My cooking triumphs
It took me a couple of times to get my lemon meringue pie perfect.... but it was so worth it.
My cooking tragedies
I cannot eat something unless it is seasoned perfectly and I gave my mom a recipe and she under seasoned it. I felt I mislead her. Lol.

Fiber One(R) Chocolate-Peanut Butter Haystacks
These are definately a yummy way to get your fiber! The peanut butter and chocolate actually made these pretty good, especially seeing how I hate the taste of bran. Definately a keeper!

German Texas Chili
I thought this was a delicious chili recipe. I personally prefer slightly sweet and spicy chili, and this one fit the bill. I had never added beer to a chili recipe before either, but I honestly liked the flavor it added. I did add a little less chipotles though, because 6 are way too much for any dish. I added 2 chipotle peppers, and 2 teaspoons of sauce. Also I upped my chili powder to a 1/4 cup. I also did not have whole cloves, but I did have them in powdered form, so I added a few dashes. I also added some smoked paprika, which was delicious. I will make this chili again, but I will tweak it a bit. **EDIT** After serving it to my family, it was a HUGE hit with them. I changed my rating from 4 stars to 5 stars. My hubby begged me to save the recipe.

2-Step Garlic Pork Chops
I thought these were pretty tasty. The kids even loved them. I love the fact that it is a super quick and easy recipe too. The only change I made was I used darlic powder instead, and I added a little onion powder also. I will be making these again! Yum!
