Grilled Halibut with Cilantro Garlic Butter

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2009
Yum! Seared tuna very rare, broiled some red pepper and fresh avocado slices covered everything with the sauce. I did add a little extra garlic because I LOVE it!

Mom's Brussels Sprouts

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2009
Delish! My husband thought it was a little too sweet but I loved it. The sweet cuts the bitter of the sprout. I did saute fresh sprouts instead of frozen and subbed peacans because I don't like walnuts. Will definitely make again.

Broiled Halibut with Goat Cheese Crust

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2009
YUM! I doubled the recipe and used wahoo steaks that my husband caught. The only change I made was to use heavy cream instead of milk in the sauce. I had a little left over that would have gone bad otherwise. The sauce goes very well with broccoli!

Avocado and Cilantro Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2008
Avocado soup is one of my favorite summer time treats but this recipe did not impress me. I found it rather bland. I think its a good starter recipe to build from. To make it how I like I doubled the cilantro and added it to straight to the soup and blended, once it sits for a while it adds a nice spring time flavor. I also added about a 1/4 cup heavy cream, garlic salt instead of regular and about 2 TBS lemon juice. Making these additions saved the soup. I will use this as my base recipe and keep playing around with it. Next time I may try adding some cucumbers.

Cajun Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2008
YUM! Followed recipe but didn't have any mushrooms. Can't wait to try again with shrooms. I guess if I have to nitpick, I waited for the sauce to thicken up a bit more than it did, but hey, cream is cream, you can't really go wrong. Excellent recipe.

Easy Cranberry Granola

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2008
I love this granola. I didn't have wheat germ so I ground up some flax seed in my coffee grinder, great replacement and very good for you too. I also cooked it in a 9x13 baking dish with higher sides so it was easier to stir with less chance of spilling. I do think this added some cook time because it wasn't all in a thin layer, but all in all I think I added about 15 extra minutes. A definate staple recipe in my house.

Aggression ( Oatmeal ) Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2008
Great recipe. My kids loved helping and eating! I did find it was best to let the cookies cool for a minute on the cookie sheet before moving them to a cooling rack. If moved to soon they had a tendency to fall apart. We will definitely be making these again.

This was fabulous. I left out the raisins because I'm just not a fan. I also skipped the glaze and went for readymade buttercream frosting. Yum

Followed recipe exactly. It was pretty good. Could benefit from some more seasonings. I may add chopped onion and garlic next time. I liked the cheesiness.

Rachel's Turkey Loaf

My husband and I found this a bit mushy. Maybe because of the bread crumbs when we are used to broken up pieces bread. Overall, easy to make and pretty good flavor. Liked the BBQ sauce.

excellent! I did add extra bacon and probably 3 pinches sugar. I decided it needed a bit more sweetness about half way through cooking. Very yummy.

Blackberry and Blueberry Pie

This was fabulous. I didn't have enough blackberries so I added some raspberries. I did use frozen berries so I took the advice of previous reviewers and added corn starch. I added 2Tbs but next time I will add a third. Very very good!

Luscious Chicken Pot Pie

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2007
very good! I boiled potatoes and carrots, used frozen peas and corn, chopped onion and celery. I only had 1 can of cr. of chicken soup so I subbed in cr. of mushroom. This was pretty good. Next time I think I'll try potato like some of the other reviewers. I also added some dried herbs and garlic salt. Could have added more salt. I was afraid on my first attempt to add too much. I used 1 ready made pie crust and topped it with a pastry sheet. Perfect! I did have to extend the cooking time to about an hour. I will definitely make this one again.
