me and my hubby!
About this Cook
I live in Buffalo with my husband and our Min-Pin, Mila. I absolutley love to cook and entertain- I love preparing big meals for my family and friends. After a long day at work, cooking is a form of therapy and stress relief for me (that and a nice big glass of wine!!) My husband is the master of the grill - so we enjoy trying out new recipes together and working as a team to create some pretty yummy meals!
My favorite things to cook
As soon as the weather turns cold, my favorite things to make are homemade soups and stews! I love the way the house smells and I love how a big bowl of soup can just warm even the chilliest Buffalo nights! I also LOVE cooking for the holidays- we have Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve at our house every year- I make many of the traditional recipes I learned from my grandmother, but always throw in a few new things of my own!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every night we sat down as a family and had our dinner- This is something that my husband and I now do every night. It not only makes dinner special, but gives us an opportunity to unwind, have a glass of wine, and enjoy eachothers company!
My cooking triumphs
Anytime my cooking brings our family and friends together, the first time I perfected my grandmother's roast beef recipe, When I realized that my husband wasn't a picky eater and would try pretty much anything, Anytime my father tastes something I've made and says that it tastes like his mother's cooking (my grandmother was an amazing cook!)
My cooking tragedies
I am a great cook, but not the best baker! I swear, its because I hate to measure things. Whenever I try to bake something from scratch, it never turns out quite right! I'm working on it...

Raspberry and Almond Shortbread Thumbprints
Excellent Holiday cookie recipe! Everyone loved these and they were so easy to make! I followed the recipe exactly and didn't run into any of the problems that other reviewers experienced with flattening and the filling running out. I will definitley make these again!

Bacon-Wrapped Asparagus
Wow! So simple and elegant! I baked this is a 400 degree oven for about 20-25 minutes and they came out perfect! The bacon gives the asparagus a nice subtle smoky flavor - yummy! I will definitley be making these again and again!
