About this Cook
Hello- I am a mother of two children who are almost grown. I'm a stay at home mom right now, supplementing my income with ebay! As I wait for the kids to go off to college, I dream of traveling. My inspiration comes from Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives! I used to want to travel Europe- now I can't wait to drive all over the US of A!
My favorite things to cook
I love cooking tacos since they are my families favorite, but my passion is to bake. Dessert is the greatest, isn't it?
My favorite family cooking traditions
I never thought of them as family traditions, but I guess that's exactly what they have become! Over the last several years, I have taught my son how to make my special tacos. If I'm not home to start them, he's happy to help out. I also have a wonderful corn souffle recipe everyone seems to go crazy about, so my daughter now enjoys making it for special occasions so she can get the rave reviews!
My cooking triumphs
I only eat poultry, but I still cook other meat items for my family. I guess I can call it a triumph when they like it, since I don't ever taste it to see if it needs anything else. My boyfriend thinks I'm a genius when I can season something just right without tasting it!
My cooking tragedies
I'm sure there's plenty of them, but nothing sticks out in my mind. I can't seem to get the hang of cooking tofu- a goal of mine, since I love it!

Cherry Fluff
This recipe is fantastic! For those of you who don't like cherries- you will probably like this! My family is not a big fan of cherry pie, but they love this recipe. What I add to this is a can of mandarine oranges. Yum! I don't add nuts or coconut if I'm taking it to a get together because so many people son't like them but if I'm at home, I add lots! Very versatile recipe. I can't wait to try it with blackberry pie filling like someone else suggested- that could definately be a favorite!

Granny Cake I
I made this cake for a family get together and it got great raves from the kids as well as the adults. I doubled the recipe, thankfully, because the hostess couldn't wait to have the leftovers for breakfast! I used the condensed milk over the top as others had suggested. I think this cake would be good with either milk. It would probably be good without either one, too, for those of you wathing your weight. I added some cinnamon chips to this cake batter to give it a little pizzaz- good choice! This cake doesn't have a strong pineapple taste, which I liked. Overall it was just a yummy coffee cake great for a get together. I think I will try this next time with strawberries and whipped cream! And maybe I will replace the white sugar with brown. This is a very versatile recipe- the combinations are endless!
