I never liked what my mother made for supper so I started cooking when I was very young. In fact if I were to get into trouble my punishment would be that I wasn't allowed to use the stove.
My favorite things to cook
My tastes are constantly changing, but growing up on a farm I've always tried to cook with organic foods even before I knew it was a "thing" and became a commercial push. However, I'm just thrilled how much of it I can find at the grocery stores now that I live in the city with no garden.
My favorite family cooking traditions
We never had any growing up so I'm looking to start one or more of my own now that I'm married with a baby due in August.
My cooking triumphs
making mago sticky rice at home taste almost exactly like the one at our favorite restaurant.
My cooking tragedies
I had a dinner party and 2 of my guests were vegetarian so to be thoughtful I made the entire meal vegetarian, or so I thought. After rave reviews of my meal I was asked what was in it so I listed my ingredients and came to chicken broth when I heard 2 spoons fall back into their bowls. I felt just awful and have never made that mistake again.
