Modenese Pork Chops

Used 1 cupsweet white wine, and 1 Tbls finely chopped fresh rosemary. Added a little bit of flour after removing chops to thicken sauce slightly.

Ham and Broccoli Quiche

Used hashbrowns for the crust and turkey pastrami instead of ham. Delicious! Did take a full hour to cook though--might warm the ham and broccoli in the microwave first and use room temp eggs to speed it along next time.

Hong Kong Sweet and Sour Pork

Lacking in flavor, this was neither sweet nor sour. I followed the recipe almost exactly--just adding some carrots and celery to fill out the veggie content. Sweet and Sour Pork III is a much tastier and easier recipe and I will be going back to it for my sweet and sour fix next time.

Chicken Breasts with Balsamic Vinegar and Garlic

I made this without mushrooms, but otherwise followed the recipe and it was so delicious! I doubled the sauce and dipped each bite! Next time I will add the garlic later because it nearly burned before I could get the broth in the pot (and didn't get to brown the other side of the chicken because of it).

Russian Chicken with Feta Cheese

This was delicious! I was about a quarter cup short on sour cream and doubled the garlic (because I always do), but otherwise followed the recipe. Made double the sauce and poured the extra over some gnocchi. Also used some of the extra sauce as 'gravy' over some egg foo young. This would make a great pasta sauce as well!

Ginger Beef Stir-Fry

Doubled the garlic, upped the veggies a little, and used a tablespoon of hot chili sauce instead of red pepper flakes. This was absolutely delicious! This will be my standard stir-fry recipe from here on out. I think next time I will double the sauce though because I would like to have poured some over the rice.

Mouthwatering Whiskey Grill Glaze

I wasn't paying close enough attention and added beef broth instead of bullion. I just let it boil for a long time and then added a little corn starch to thicken. I still prefer my steak with Chimichurri sauce, but this tastes great if you're looking for something sweet.

Turkey Burger Pie

This was a bit bland--even after spicing up the turkey a bit. Even so, I really liked the idea/construction of this dish and will try it again (but with even more spices). I also added a can of corn between the meat and cheese, this made a nice one-dish meal.

Lemon Drop Martini

I only had lime vodka so this turned out as more of a lime-drop martini...and I loved it! Tried it a second time using lemon juice instead of lime (with the lime vodka) in order to keep the lemon-lime taste--this was also very good (but I liked the all lime one a little better).

Broiled Halibut with Goat Cheese Crust

Substituted orange roughy for the halibut because that's what I had, but the crust and sauce both were excellent! A little heavy on the lemon pepper in the crust for my liking, but my beau loved it as is.
