About this Cook
I enjoy cooking at home as much as walking a few blocks to eat at a variety of neighborhood restaurants nearby. Sausage and torta sandwiches are my favorite things to eat out. Cooking is a craft in progress, but it always seems to turn out better with a little company and a refreshing beverage!
My favorite things to cook
Grandma's apple pie.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Thanksgiving, birthday cakes, brie and paprika on crackers.
My cooking triumphs
A 20-lb turkey brined overnight in kosher salt, pepper, lemon, lime, cilantro and ice.
My cooking tragedies
So many.

Angie's Dad's Best Cabbage Coleslaw
Chose this version for the first time making cole slaw and turned out great, even making several substitutes and subtractions... 1/2 c. sugar, 1/2 c. oil, 1/2 c. redwine vinegar instead of white vinegar, and the only veggie added was one large chopped leek.

Kahala's Shrimp and Broccoli Toss
I made this dish with chard and over rice and it turned out great. Next time though, I'll cut the butter and garlic by half.
