About this Cook
I'm a stay at home mom of two young children. I come from a long line of bad cooks so almost everything I know came from books, the internet and watching Food Network.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake and wish I had more time to spend on new recipes. My specialty is desserts, but I also love to make bread from scratch. Unfortunately since I have two young kids I don't have a lot of time to spend on this.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Not burning Thanksgiving dinner! My family is full of bad cooks so I do most of the cooking whenever we get together. It's safer for everyone.
My cooking triumphs
The first time I made a pie from scratch, including the crust. I was just a kid, around 10 years old and I was so proud of myself since I did it all from a book.
My cooking tragedies
I tried to make my husband's grandmother's Swedish meatballs. To this day I have no idea what I did wrong since I followed her recipe to the letter, but they were horrible!

Royal Icing III
I used these when decorating gingerbread cookies. Not only did it hold the candy on the cookies but it tasted wonderful. I plan to attempt a gingerbread house with it in the future.

Fluffy Biscuits
These are the first homemade biscuits I've attempted and I found them easy to make and very light and fluffy. They went great with the Sausage Gravy I recipe.
