I love baking cakes. My mother is a talented wedding cake decorator but I'm more interested in the taste and texture of a cake than its appearance!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I'm fairly new to married life, and still trying to invent our own traditions! Of course there are also traditions that have been passed down, such as the super-secret chocolate sauce recipe, which I had to take a vow never to reveal (even to my husband!) in order to get from my mother.

Yakisoba Chicken
Quite good! I really shouldn't rate this recipe because I used spaghetti noodles instead of soba... but I guess everyone should know that it still made a tasty, though inauthentic, dish!

My Chili
Finally, a chili recipe that doesn't call for outrageous ingredients! Like other reviewers, I think it's a great starting point. It's easily adjusted to your tastes and what you have on hand. A+

Frosted Banana Bars
This will become my standard banana cake recipe! I delayed adding the sour cream until the end, with the bananas - then I folded in both, gently. The texture of the cake was almost CREAMY when it came out of the oven!
