I am 25 years old, and have been married to my husband Shaun for 4 years. I am also a mommy, I gave birth to my daughter in April. I work part time outside of the home, and I am a full time Mommy! We just recently discovered my husband has Celiac Disease (gluten-intolerance), so eating out is not really an option for us anymore.
My favorite things to cook
I love the slow cooker. I enjoy trying fun and exciting new things. I like experimenting with asian food. A lot of the time I'll just gather some ingredients from my pantry and just throw something together. I cook a lot with corn and rice based ingredients now, since wheat is out of the window for our family.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Goutta, a yummy breakfast sausage. Huge Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter dinners.
My cooking triumphs
The other day I made Curry Chicken for the first time. I didn't follow a recipe, just my gut and it turned out AMAZING!
My cooking tragedies
My first Thanksgiving dinner was a disaster, instead of coating the turkey bag with flour, I used powder sugar. (wasn't paying attention to what was in the cannister) I couldn't figure out why the skin was sticking to the bag until I tried to make my gravy, and it never thickened up and I FINALLY tasted it. It was hilarious.
