Hi, I'm a beginning baker and I'm always learning something new. I always look for a challenge to take my skills to the next level. I bake with my boyfriend and siblings. I love to bake with siblings because I believe that four hands are better than two! I bake with my boyfriend because I feel it is a way for us to bond and spend time together.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake any kind of pastry cookies, cakes, brownies, bread, scones, and muffins. I also like to cook dinner for my family, Pasta, Rice, Big Casseroles, or something we all can enjoy.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My favorite cooking traditions would have to be cooking together, teaching each other different ways to cook/bake. Just generally passing on knowledge.
My cooking triumphs
My cooking triumphs would probably be when me and my brother first made cheesecake. The cheesecake looked like it was made by a professional bakery. I was really proud of my brother and I for making something that looked and tasted as good as a bakery's cheesecake. So with this triumph I can now claim cheesecake as one of my specialties.
My cooking tragedies
My tragedies are many. But, one that stands out in my mind is when I was baking biscuits with my brother. We were just finishing them up when I just pulled them out of the oven. I had forgotten that we didn't need to grease the sheet for this recipe, so the biscuits come off really easy. So I pulled the sheet really fast and tilted a bit and the biscuits flew all over the floor! All that work! Thankfully there were 5 or so biscuits left so we enjoyed those as much as we could.
