Bread (especially sourdough), Greek food, dessert (all kinds!) My grandfather was born in Greece and my family (though not Greek Orthodox) has adopted some of the customs. My favorite are Tsoureki at Easter and Christopsomo at Christmas. Esther Bolick's Orange Marmalade Cake (from the Mitford series by Jan Karon) I've only had about a 50% success rate with baklava. That darn syrup never comes out just right. My main culinary failing is pie crust. I've had too many disasters to even want to try new recipes and perfect my pie crust technique. I'll stick to other desserts!
