About this Cook
My husband & I retired to Cape Cod in 2001. I love to read cook books & try different dishes. I am limited as my husband is sort of a plan eater. However, he has come a very long way. So if he does not like it, I do not make it again. :) Not a problem!
My favorite things to cook
I love to make the old comfort foods that my grandmothers & mom made. My favorite is Braciolatini, Pizza, Lentil soup, Pasta Sauce, that we used to call Sunday Sauce. I also love appetizers & having appetizer parties. I think that I like whatever I am cooking~I am happiest when I am cooking.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas my mom made her home made Spinach Ravoli. We all loved them so very much. I tried to do them once but they were not like moms. I really do not care to bake any longer however, I still make some of the Christmas cookies mom use to do. Can't disappoint our grandchildren & children.
My cooking triumphs
Trying new dishes & they come out great.
My cooking tragedies
Many year ago, right after we were married I had Christmas Day dinner for the whole family. Mom made her Spinach Ravioli & I did the Christmas sauce. I ran out of fridge space so put the sauce on the back porch. At dinner one of the family members said the meatballs were green. We had to trash every thing. Ravioli, Eggplant Parm. EVERY THING....:( I am still reminded every now & then about that Christmas. I certainly will never forget.

Chili Rubbed Pork Tenderloin With Apricot Ginger Glaze
What a wonderful tasting pork tenderloin. I prepared this the day before serving & is a 5 Star without a doubt. I followed it exact putting the glaze on towards the end & using the rest for dipping. My huband, grandchildren~~the whole family enjoyed this so very much. I served it with corn on the cob & whole wheat rice pilaf. Thank you again All Recipe . com!!!!!! Happy Cooking Everyone.... Enjoy the rest of the summer!!!! Nana

Oven-Fried Pork Chops
These were great. I used bread crumbs instead of stuffing. Put a little smart balance on top. Will make these again.

Corned Beef and Cabbage I
Thanks again for a wonderful recipe but thanks also to all who write these great reviews. It is so nice to read what cooks think of the dish they make. Yesterday I made this Corned Beef & Cabbage & in my 45 years married to wonderful Irish husband he tells his Italian wife that it was the best yet. WOW! What is funny to me about Allrecipes.com is that now whenever I come up with a new dish, friends or family will say: Allrecipe.com?? They know me by now. The reviews helped so much on these recipes. The problem I had with this is that there were no spice packets in the pkg. so I just did my own thing…4 garlic cloves, crushed, pepper corns, mustard corns, 2 bay leaves, pepper, dry mustard & the only change I made was adding bottle of beer. When the beef was done I put it in a dish, covered with foil. Then cooked my veggies in those wonderful juices till not quite done. When they were done I put them in a dish with broth, covered with foil & put in a warm oven till I was ready to serve. Sliced my cooled down beef, put in a 13 X 9 dish covered with foil put in oven till ready to serve. I did make the Horseradish sauce and it was very good as well, but I found that it was cold next to the nice hot corned beef. I’m sticking to Grey Poupon….Also a little sprinkle of white vinegar on cabbage is great. Also helps with any problem that may occur after!! ? Outstanding!! Wow…great recipe. Thanks Laria and thank you all with the great reviews. Nana Happy St. Patrick’s D
