This is a delicious and forgiving stew recipe! I made this the other night and instead of using beef I used elk meat. I know it sounds a little weird, but my dad is a hunter so I try to find recipes that allow me to use game meats. In addition to that substitute I used water instead of beef broth, I added extra garlic, spices, and a package of slow cooker stew spices. I cooked it all day and it turned out great!
