My Kids
About this Cook
I am a proud parent of two children, Emma,11 and Nicholas, 4.
My favorite things to cook
I just love to cook. I like to try new recipes everyday, and eventually I go back and make them again, changing anything I think is necessary to make it that much better.
My favorite family cooking traditions
We never really had any cooking traditions in the family......Since I started my own family, I have tried to incoperate some traditions of my own that I hope my children will continue on.
My cooking triumphs
Anything that I have made that doesn't need any tweeking is a triumph in my book!
My cooking tragedies
I tried to make "ranch chicken" once....followed the recipe accordingly....YUCK! It tasted like I cooked the chicken in some kind of chemical cleaner! Needless to say, we ate out that night!

Beer Bread I
I liked this recipe. My husband loved it. I made it as written and decided we like it better with a few changes (increased sugar to 1/3 cup, added handful of sharp cheddar, used a bigger pan and let rise for 45-60 minutes before baking, basted with butter and garlic salt 1/2 way thru baking and at the end (from other reviewers)) definatly a 5 star recipe. I rated 5 star even though I had to make changes to the original recipe because of the ease and quickness of making the bread.

Cheese Dip with Beer
I followed the recipe exact and it has a good flavor but a slightly gritty consistancy. Idk if that happened because I couldn't quite melt the cream cheese completely or because that is just how cheddar cheese melts down. It wasn't so gritty that I couldn't eat it but not as smooth as I prefer.

Best Brownies
Best brownies would be accurate! Not too thick or cakey and the perfect denseness that you expect from a brownie without the fudgy-ness...and to top it off, it gets the slightly crunchy edges that I love in a brownie!!!
