Sugar Cookie Frosting
When I've used Royal Icing in the past it can take up to 2 days to set and as I was decorating the cookies for the next morning I had to have something that set overnight. This did set overnight, held sprinkles fabulously, was easy to pipe and kept its shape. I didn't think it was too sweet, I added half almond half vanilla flavoring. The reason I gave it 3 stars is that it separated... I added rose petal pink wilton gel coloring and mixed well and the color separated. It looked almost marbled (although not as pretty). I know that shortening can cause this sometimes but I was using all vegetable shortening and all my ingredients were fresh. It was even a new pot of gel color, I had to remove the foil seal. In reading the other reviews noone else mentioned this so I'm not sure what I did wrong.

Bordelaise Sauce with Mushrooms
This tasted really good! But I guess I cooked it a little too long as it didn't make much. I even added more water to it and it still only came out like maybe a cup and a half. If you're making this recpie for more than 2 people, double it. Also, I had everything on hand except the shallots so I used regular sweet onion instead and it still tasted great. I used Shiraz as the red wine. Overall a really good recipe!

Corn Casserole I
Good recipe but mine needs tweaking... I didn't have a can of creamed corn or chilis so I used two cans of whole kernel instead and left the chilis out all together. I added a little milk to make up for the moisture lost from not having the creamed corn but I didn't add enough and as a result it turned out dry. My boyfriend, however, loved it. I think the next time I make it I'll make sure I have the correct ingredients on hand and I'm sure it will be better. My boyfriend also said it reminded him of quiche. While I'm not sure about it tasting like quiche it was good even though it was dry.
