Penne with Chicken and Asparagus

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2009
thought this recipe was just ok. even used fresh garlic instead of powder...added some white wine when cooking the chicken as well as shallot. perhaps should of halved the pasta like other users recommended. i did up the broth like others recommended. added some fresh parsley at the end. i wouldn't throw recipe away...but most probably would not make again. just no 'wow' factor to it, but decent enough for making a quick meal

Vegan-Friendly Falafel

This recipe was a 3 and 1/2 when I baked them, but a 5 when I friend them....maybe I baked too long, because they came out dry. Will make again, but will certainly fry.

Chicken Tikka Masala

My daughter and I LOVED this recipe...husband did not, but only because he is NOT a fan of cumin (so that's his fault ;-) Only change I made was doubling the 2nd part of the recipe for more sauce to put over rice. Oh...and sauteed some ripe red peppers and tossed that in with the sauce and chicken. DELISH and SIMPLE!!!!

Really this was 3 and 1/2 stars. I agree with everyone else...this meal was really quick to prepare...so there is where it gets a 4. The taste was good...not amazing.

Although this recipe was very easy...I just thought it was OK. No wow factor here for me and won't make again.

This recipe was a HUGE HUGE HUGE hit with my family. Using fresh lemon and fresh parsley is a must...as well as using Spanish rice. What a difference this makes. So happy I found this recipe.

Chicken In Basil Cream

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2008
My family really loved this recipe. Followed some users advice and added some garlic to the butter. Also added some white wine (w/the chicken broth) for some extra flavor. Made a bit extra sauce and served w/farfalle pasta from Trader Joe's. Made chicken w/fresh breadcrumbs (added ground Italian seasoning to the breadcrumbs)

Sesame Shrimp Stir-Fry

Reviewed: May 30, 2008
Good recipe...pretty simple. Did not have teriaki sauce but used House of Tsang's Sizzling Stir fry sauce as well as fresh garlic in marinade. Doubled recipe by using pound of chicken (marinated in same bag as shrimp, but picked out the chicken to cook that longer than shrimp) Also used frozen snow peas and fresh red peppers. Next time I will try w/fresh ginger...just didn't have any.

Almond Lemon Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2008
Was a little overwhelmed at first when seeing all of the ingredients and reading the reviews of how messy this was and time consuming, but I did not find it bad at all (not THAT messy or terribly time consuming). I didn't change a thing. Funny, I found it more enjoyable a couple of hours after I made it, rather than immediately after making it....kind of like the flavors had time to pull together. I really give it 4 and 1/2 stars, but that's not an option.

Marinated Tuna Steak

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2007
This was a great recipe that the entire family enjoyed. Extremely flavorful. Followed other users suggestions and modified recipe with 3/4 cups of orange juice, a little lesst than 1/4 cup of soy sauce, and added a tablespoon of honey. I also marinated for 10 hours (made marinade that morning). Some parts of tuna became dry, while others did not. Although I am sure that was due to my cooking, and NOT the marinade.

Chocolate Trifle

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2007
This dessert was absolutely amazing. I followed some suggestions and added caramel on the brownies when layering, as well as making my own cool whip (pt whipping cream, 1/3 cup of powdered sugar, 1 tsp vanilla) for one of the layers as opposed to container cool whip. My daughter has determined this will be her birthday dessert, and several guests at a small get together asked for the recipe after it was totally devoured. GREAT RECIPE!!!!

Potato Leek Soup III

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2007
Made this for my daughter who is a fan of 'The Palm's' Potato leek soup and she ate the entire pot. Also followed user's suggestion who added shallot and garlic as well as wine toward the end of cooking the leeks. Oh - and also added some cayenne pepper (if you are looking for just a kick). Pureed the soup in a blender and it was really great!

Rosemary Roasted Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2007
I made this recipe for a small dinner party and they loved it! So simple and easy, and the combination of the flavors truly unique. Was a bit leary about the sweetness from the concentrate and the rosemary/mustard, but it TOTALLY comes together. Will certainly make again.
