About this Cook
My name is Kelly and I live in Seattle, WA. I am 22 and a recent graduate, therefore I pretty much live alone. However, led by love of cooking and socializing, along with a house full of male friends, I created Tuesday night dinners. Every week I select a menu from this site, go over to my friends' house, and cook for them. We invite other friends, so every week it comes out to be a small dinner party of 6-8 people. This site has been such a great resource for trying out new menus and dishes. It has sure made my Tuesday nights a success!
My favorite things to cook
Spicy food! I also love dishes that infuse different tastes such as sweet+spicy or creamy+tangy.
My favorite family cooking traditions
When I cook for my friends every tuesday I have only two rules: 1) if i cook, I won't clean! 2) the cook requires wine while working
My cooking triumphs
Just about EVERYTHING I have made off this site.
My cooking tragedies
Attempting German spaetzle and weiner schnitzle for Oktoberfest night in late September. We were all worried as I gobbed the spaetzle dough into the pot of boiling water- but despite lack of aesthetics, it turned out pretty good!

Potato Pancakes I
I subbed sweet potatoes and used half the amount of onion. I really enjoyed the flavor, however the chunky texture of the yellow onion didn't seem right. In the future I will replace the yellow onion with minced green onion. Still a delicious recipe

Crepes
These were fabulous! I served them stuffed with eggs and cheddar and topped off with hollandaise- they were gone in a heartbeat.

Sweet Potato Pineapple Casserole
This was just ok, the sweet potato flavor was overshadowed by all the pineapple. Too watery too.
