Chocolate Eclair Cake

Wow! Who knew something so simple could be so good. I LOVE this stuff! I couldn't find the chocolate graham crackers, so I went with the regular ones. And, I initially doubled the chocolate sauce just in case it wasn't enough ( I LOVE chocolate ). But, I found that the regular amount worked well. We will definitely be making this one again!

Tortellini, Steak, and Caesar

This recipe is really quite tasty, and I love how quick and easy it is to make. The flank steak smells so good while it's cooking, and pairs nicely with the tortellini - I would have never though to put it together for a salad. Thanks LROHNER for the recipe! We're having this again tonight :)

One Bowl Brownies

I did not have the baking chocolate squares so I used the cocoa powder/oil instead, and followed the recipe as is. The brownies turned out pretty good - just a tad bit dry for my taste. But, very chocolaty and yummy! I am getting ready to make another batch right now!

Spaghetti Carbonara II

I didn't have any wine so I left that out, otherwise I followed the recipe as is and it turned out pretty good. We hadn't had spaghetti carbonara before, but we both enjoyed it. Next time I think I might add some grilled chicken to make it more of a meal, but it's good as is.

Quick Sesame Green Beans

I haven't been able to find the miso paste so I just skip that, and I use ground ginger rather than fresh - but we love these green beans. Even the kids will eat them if there isn't too much red pepper on them.

Whipped Cream

I gave it only 3 stars because to me, this needed much more sugar. I liked it better with 3 Tbsp of sugar. But I will definitely use this recipe as my starting point in the future for good whipped cream.

Broccoli Beef II

I omitted the mushrooms (because I don't care for them) and used frozen broccoli since that's what I had on hand - otherwise I followed the recipe and it turned out great. I doubled the recipe and made it while my parents were visiting and everyone said it was great. It's not take-out, but still good and easy to make. Will use this recipe again.

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

I accidentally left out the white sugar when making these - and they still turned out pretty darn good. I didn't make the whole batch at once, and after realizing my error, I added a bit of sugar to the remaining dough and those cookies tasted even better. The cookies stayed soft for a couple of days in tupperware and were very yummy. I will be using this recipe again for choc chip cookies for sure.

Butter Flaky Pie Crust

I haven't made many pie crusts, so from a novice perspective, this was very easy to make. I made several crusts in one day and I noticed that each needed a little more/less water, but easy to do following the directions. I wasn't big on the flavor though. It was flaky, but, for me, laking in flavor. Based on flavor, I would give this 3 stars, but because the recipe turned out perfect and was easy to follow, I gave it 4 stars.

Dirt Cake I

I used all chocolate pudding since I'm a huge chocolate lover. I was so full from dinner, I barely had room to try this and though I wasn't wowed by it - I think it mostly because I was too full to enjoy it because everyone else loved it. I might try it with vanilla pudding next time, but I'm pretty sure I will leave out the butter, I don't really see what the need for it is. I think it will be fine without it.

Mocha Buttercream Chocolate Espresso Cake

This was the first cake I have ever made from scratch, and I'm so happy to report that it turned out very nicely! I followed the recipe exactly, and the only reason that I didn't give it 5 stars was because the cake didn't rise very much so it was pretty dense and shallow in my 2 8" pans. The glaze seemed to stay wet on the cake (I was expecting it to crust a bit), but it adds a great flavor. I will definitely hang onto this recipe - very yummy, rich cake.

Penne with Tomatoes and Feta Cheese

My husband and I loved this recipe. We didn't have the diced tomatoes but instead I used a bunch of cherry tomatoes and cut them in half. And, we didn't have the olives that it called for but used the ones we had on hand in the fridge. The second time I made it, I added some diced chicken breasts to make it more of a meal. We will definitely be making this again - so quick and easy and so flavorful too!

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

These were pretty good. As long as the dough was really cold, it rolled out nicely and worked great for cookie cutters. I'm personally not a fan of sugar cookies, but the kids and my husband really liked them. I will probably use this recipe for Christmas cut-out cookies this year.

Sugar Cookie Icing

I would have given this 5 stars but it definitely needs some tweeking - I found it needed more milk and corn syrup. But, once the consistency was right, it worked great! (side note, I like vanilla flavoring much better than the almond)

Slow Cooker Taco Soup

This isn't bad, but I thought the soup itself was a little bland. I even added half of an extra packet of taco seasoning near the end, along with some cumin and chili powder while cooking the meat, but it seemed like it was missing a little something. However, once you added the corn chips, shredded cheese and sour cream, the end result was pretty tasty. To me though, it seemed more like chili than a taco.

Italian Grilled Cheese Sandwiches

Great grilled cheese sandwiches!! 6 was too many for us, so we halved the recipe. We like a lot of garlic so I doubled that and added a bit of parmesan cheese to the butter for some extra flavor. Super easy to make and a nice twist on grilled cheese, will definitely make again.

Pork Apple Burgers

These burgers were awesome! I couldn't find ground pork so I used ground turkey, and I halved the recipe since it was just two of us eating them. The mixture was pretty wet, so I added some panko to help hold it together. And, we grilled the pineapples just a bit before putting them on the burgers. We will definitely be making this again!

Fiery Pork Skewers

My husband and I LOVE these!! They were so good that I made them two nights in a row and if I had enough of the ingredients I would have made them again that week. I followed the recipe as is (only adding some red bell pepper to my skewers) and they turned out perfect. My only suggestion is that you use more meat. I found that only using 3/4lb of the pork chop was barely enough for two people. So in the future, I would probably double the recipe so that we could have some leftovers.
