This was a really nice marinade. We used mushrooms, zucchini and red bell peppeer on the skewers as well.

Honey Wheat Bread I

Reviewed: May 16, 2009
This bread is amazing - the dough starts off a bit sticky before kneading but gets softer when more flour is incorporated. painted the top with a whisked whole egg with a splash of water.

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: May 16, 2009
This is a really great recipe (as I expected by the huge amount of positive reviews). However, I wouldn't suggest filling them to the brim of the cups. They went a little crazy on me and started pouring over the sides about 3/4 through cooking.

Soy Milk Pancakes

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2009
This recipe is really good for those who don't eat milk products. I use half whole wheat flour and half white flour. My wife and I enjoyed them very much together with "Absolute best pancake syrup" by Ingrid. The recipe is exactly enough for a nice saturday morning breakfast for 2 (I used a tiny 5 inch crepe pan).

Peanut Butter Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2009
They were pretty good, not really my style though. They were very textured and only slightly moist. Very salty peanut butter taste in mine, although i suppose it depends on your brand. It took about 11 minutes to cook right.

Gingerbread Biscotti

These biscotti were really great. I dipped half the cookies with milk chocolate, and half the cookies I dabbed the end in white chocolate.

Creamy Rice Pudding

very good... it came out a bit mushy for my taste, but i've also never used this type of rice before. it's Risella porridge rice from Finland. It really sucked up all the milk!

Roast Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2008
took the advice of monsieur sax and mixed everything in a bag the night before. i learned that potatoes don't look very good after marinating overnight in a bag. oh well, they tasted good :) used herbes de provence and rosemary.

This pie is very hard to mess up... it reminds me of this amazing pie at a diner in northern michigan. My wife said it's the best pie she's ever had. 6 stars.

Restaurant-Style Coleslaw I

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2008
That was my first time making coleslaw, and it was really, really good! I shredded about 1/2 a head of cabbage and 1 carrot... turned out to be about 2 liters of slaw, which was perfect for the amount of dressing.

Absolute Best Pancake Syrup

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2008
unlike many of the reviewers, I used real buttermilk (fat free though). It was really super delicious, but the buttermilk seems to have curdled. it looks gross and has some chewy chunks, but the overall flavor was delicious.

Pretty good cheesecake. Not quite the texture that I would like, but it's hard to judge since I doubled the recipe. The cake looked beautiful though and the flavor was great.

Easy Shake and Bake Chicken

This was really good.. never tried this before. Instead of flour we used cracker crumbs. Worked really nicely. outside was crunchy, inside juicy. we used boneless skinless chicken breasts and timing was about right, 40 min.

Easiest Mushroom Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2008
really good.. i prepared it differently though. first fried the mushrooms, dumped them out of the pan, cooked the flour and butter together until it was combined, added the stock, stirred like crazy, then added the mushrooms again and heated for a few minutes. added quite a bit of salt and pepper as well. put it on top of wiener schnitzel and mashed potatoes and it was delicious!

Garlic Pasta with Prawns

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2008
Very delicious idea for a pasta... only change is I first fried up a bit of zucchini for a while, then threw in the shrimp and lots of garlic. the resultant sauce was really tasty. after boiling mini shell macaroni, i stirred it in the pan with the sauce.
