i'll make anything once. i especially like to make baked goods.
My favorite family cooking traditions
my father dotes on emeril, but i'm more of an alton brown person. my grandmother taught me to cook. she made very traditional, meat and potatoes recipes. but was also known for her excellent pies and cakes.
My cooking triumphs
lemon drop cupcakes. pumpkin tarte tatin. marshmallows.
My cooking tragedies
beef wellington. it was so raw in the middle it had to be microwaved.

Aniseed Braids
I added some anise and lemon extracts and subbed some of the AP flour for whole wheat. Very good!

Deep Dish Brownies
obnoxiously chocolate? isn't that an oxymoron? these brownies haven't come out of the oven yet, but i'm licking the bowl and they are GOOD. i used 2 eggs and no baking powder like other reviewers; also used dutch-process cocoa to make it EXTRA chocolately. cause let's face it, if you don't like chocolate, you don't like brownies.
