About this Cook
I am a mom of 2 grown daughters, (1 still @ home) a 4 yr old son and a 7 mo old grandson. In my "spare time" I am a dental asst. of about 10 yrs. My husband is from Mexico, however not fortunate enough to have a husband that cooks, let alone Mexican cuisine. BOOOOOOOO
My favorite things to cook
A meal my WHOLE family enjoys. Soups are always a big hit. Personally, I could live on soup alone! Close runner up is German pancakes or dutch babies. Its the only thing my 4 yr old will devouer.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Thanksgiving dinner at my house. Sunday soup night and shrimp quesadillas. Having my 91 yr old grandma bring cranberries (I have learded to LOVE! and her apple pie. No one has nor ever will make better apple pie than her. She claims "its all about the apples."
My cooking triumphs
THANKGIVING DINNER!!!
My cooking tragedies
A casserole I made up out of things beginning to move in the fridge. I crumbled corn flakes and baked until it LOOKED good. My husband whom was just my boyfriend at the time said "Honey.......Is this good? Right then I knew I would marry him. He still appreciates my triumphs as well as my failures. Its been 6 yrs and I havent killed him yet!

Chuck's Favorite Mac and Cheese
I was originally looking for a "sunset magazine" mac and cheese I made yrs ago, could'nt fid it so started searching. This was as close as it gets. I added 1/2 tsp nutmeg, 1 tsp dried mustard and cayenne pepper to spice things up. Added garlic salt to bread crumbs. Then I put in a pound of raw shrimp. (I cooked them for about 5 mins prior to adding to mac n cheese) Outstanding! Very sophisticated mac n cheese. This ones a keeper!
