About this Cook
I'm 20 years old. My mother died when I was only 3 years old, so unlike a lot of other people who have had their Mom's teach them cookng, I grew up with only my father and grandmothers. I've basically taught myself the love of cooking. I have enjoyed cooking ever since I was little. I went to Culinary School for 2 years, then to a College Culinary School, but I could only stay for 1 semester, due to personal reasons. I've always wanted to work in a bakery or have one of my own. But right now I'm studying to be a Medical Assistant. Maybe someday I'll have my own little bakery. Baking is my way of relaxing. It takes me away from the stress of everyday life.
My favorite things to cook
I will try just about anything, I take recipes from the numerous magazines I have and of course I get a lot of recipes from allrecipes.com!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Well I cook for my imediate family, mostly just my dad and I, but I do enjoy it. I've cooked Thanksgiving meal, with all the fixings, it was a lot of work, but I enjoyed it alot! Although I'd like to have my own family someday.
My cooking triumphs
Making cakes & cookies and other desserts are my specialties.
My cooking tragedies
Oh I've had plenty of those, especially when I try to make up what I think would taste good, sometimes it works, sometimes its a disaster!

Apple Dumpling Cake
I was skeptical to making this recipe because it was so simple, but once I did and tried it.. I LOVED IT. I did find that it was a bit too sweet, but that could be because of the apples I used. It's wonderful the next morning as well! DELICIOUS! Definatly a keeper! Thank you!

Deep Dish Brownies
These definatly were my favorite brownie to make! I just made them this morning. I took the others advice and omitted the baking powder, and one egg. I doubled the recipe [used 4 eggs] and put in 2/3 cup semi sweet chocolate chips, they were perfect! Just the right amount of chocolate! I also frosted them with peanut butter frosting [found from this site] and drizzled melted chocolate over them! They looked amazing and tasted even better! Thank you!

Amish Potato Salad
This is a FANTASTIC recipe! It's just like what I buy in the stores, only homemade! I love it. Next time though I will decrease the sugar a bit! THANKS!
