I've been married almost two years and have a 9 month old son.
Since my hubby works and goes to school I've become somewhat of the traditional stay at home mom/wife and I love it. I can't wait for our Son to be old enough to help out in the kitchen. The biggest challenge I have is trying to find something to make for dinner every night!
My favorite things to cook
Shortbread cookies, soups, pasta, chicken, breakfast
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother always made home made pizza since there were not pizza places in our city/country. Her pizzas were origional and unlike anything you'll find here in the states. She'd often let me pitch in, my favorite part was watching the dough rise.
My cooking triumphs
Having a meal on the table at least five nights a week! Finding a dish my husband likes that's not only meat and potatoes. Cooking sweet potatoes for the first time.
My cooking tragedies
Once, when I was first learning to cook and bake, my mother let me bake a bannana cake (they are still a favorite of mine.) Well I wasn't paying attention to the directions and put a TBS of baking powder instead of a tsp. It's a good thing Peter the veggitable man came to the door ten min later to sell us some home grown goods. I bought a whole bunch of bananas and ended up making three cakes that day (since in my family we never throw anything out.) If I remember correctly it ended up working out since almost every night that week we had someone over for dinner. They had no idea that WE had been eating bannana cake for a week straight!
