About this Cook
I am a stay at home mom to one and find it a fun challenge to come up with new recipes that apeal to both my daughter and husband, and of course me! I love cooking and allrecipes is truly the best site out there.
My favorite things to cook
I have a terrible sweet tooth and love to bake. I also like Italian food and making classic american dishes like pot roast.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Lasagna for the holidays, and broccoli casserole on easter.
My cooking triumphs
I made an awesome clam chowder, pumpkin cheesecake, and carne asada tacos that everyone raved about thanks to the suggestions from users on this site.
My cooking tragedies
Every once in awile I will select a recipe from here that completely bombs. My husband thinks these are hilarious and we get a kick out of renaming the dishes. An example was a bad chili, we now affectionately refer to as "barf in a bowl"

Vegan Cupcakes
Great vegan recipe. I used vanilla soymilk and canola oil as that is what I had in my fridge. These are not very sweet and I actually think they would make a better muffin than cupcake. ***Update*** I made these again with the soymilk and canola oil as muffins. I put in some chopped up blackberries I had and bit of extra sugar. No frosting. Very good vegan muffin!

Sloppy Joe Sandwiches
These are the best sloppy joe ever! I will never buy Manwich again. I followed the recipes and only changed a couple things. I use half ketchup and half BBQ. I also add a tsp vinegar and a tbsp soy sauce. You won't be dissapointed! This sauce also works great on pulled pork.

Peanut Butter Sandwich Cookies
These are so good, very peanut buttery. Very sugary, but worth it to indulge!
