About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
My single most favorite thing to make is chocolate chip cookies. I used to make them almost everyday after high school for me and my brothers. I never used to feel like I was that great at anything but when my brutally honest brothers told me that "these are the best chocolate chip cookies ever" I believed them, it was an ego boost that tasted great.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Pumpkin pie. it's easy and quick to prepare and we only had it at holidays.
My cooking triumphs
Chocolate Babkah. It took me like six hours to make it. It was such a complex recipe. But everyone loved it. It wasn't too sweet, it was nice and light.
My cooking tragedies
Re-inventing leftovers. One nights spaghetti and meat sauce is the next night's chilli. Just add chilli powder and beans to the sauce, takes two minutes.

Slow Cooker Stuffing
It's good, I don't think it's the best in the world. I took one reviewer's advice and only added the amount of liquid needed to moisten it and still I got that weird puddle at the bottom of the slow cooker hours later, which I drained. I had to cook it for the 8 hours in order for the consistency to become normal as it was pasty for the first 7. My advice to people is to really watch how much liquid you use.

Gnocchi I
I microwaved the potatoes took 7 minutes, rinsed them with cold water, then mashed. it took max 25 to assemble and cook. I'd use this again and maybe look at the other reviews for suggestions.

Butter Chickpea Curry
No matter how many spices I added I could still taste the tomato soup, next time maybe I'll try canned or fresh tomatoes.
