I am a single mom and have 2 great kids! I also have my 4-legged kids (Golden Retrievers), Lady & Stitch. I moved to Texas at the end of 2004 and am loving every minute of it! I love trying new recipes! It really helps me to have pictures of the items I cook. Since my mom didn't really show me how to cook, I am really trying to teach my teenage daughter. I think it is important for kids to learn how to cook something other than Macaroni & Cheese (Kraft style!). I love cooking something new that seemed difficult to prepare or cook and to have my family eat up every last bite! I had my church group over for a Christmas party and I tried a new technique on turkey and the turkey wasn't ready in time. Needless to say, we wound up getting fast food (fried chicken). I was mortified!
