Mom's Buttermilk Biscuits

Used butter flavored crisco and doubled the recipe. Followed the directions. This is the best biscuit recipe I've tried from this website.

One Bowl Chocolate Cake III

This is a very good recipe. For a quick chocolate fix this is my go to recipe. I changed the servings to 6 and then baked 2 little cakes using my onion soup bowls (the ones with a handle) and they were awesome! I had to bake these for 27 minutes and they came out perfect.

Refried Beans Without the Refry

I have tried so many bean recipes and this is the best....and the simplest. I used half pintos/half black beans. 1 T. canned diced jalapeno. I soaked the beans overnight so it did not take 8 hours in the crock pot. I used a potato masher to mush them up. It made the healthiest, yummiest bean burrito. Oh...and don't add the salt until the beans are fully cooked. It seems better that way. Thank You!

Baked Oatmeal Squares

This is sooooo yummy...if you want to eat it with a fork or spoon. We ate it like a dryer oatmeal. It was moist but did not hold together at all. Maybe another egg?

I made as directed with the exception of marinade time. Mine only marinated for 3 hours. It was very good. We were pleased with it and will maybe make again.

Honey Butter

This is the perfect proportion of butter to honey. I put it in my kitchen aid mixer with the whisk and beat it real good. This is five stars as is. I then added 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla and 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon and it made it a 10.

Blueberry Kuchen

Made as directed and no one really cared for it, the nutmeg was really overpowering. My topping also just melted into the rest of it. Everyone agreed that it would be great without nutmeg so I might try again.

Amish White Bread

Wonderful Bread. Made with 1/4 cup sugar. Yummy! My husband raved about it and son (2) shoved it in. Will try with full amount of sugar next time just to see what it is like. Thank You! I have again made this with the full amount of sugar and it is still so yummy. For sandwiches I will use the 1/4 cup sugar. But it is yummy no matter what. To me this is a stupid-proof bread. Yeah!

Fresh Cherry Crisp

This was wholly b-jolly sickly sweet! I'm not sure where to start to make it right for us. I'm still trying to figure out how to tone it down so that we can enjoy this one. Waaaaay too much sugar or something, and I did use tart cherries.

Schlotsky's Bread

This is the easiest. yummiest sandwich bread. I actually forgot to spray the bread with cooking spray before cooking and it was hard when it came out. I realized that I forgot to spray it and sprayed it right then. The next time I walked by it was perfect. Exactly like schlotzky's bread!

Mom's Margarine Cake

LOL, this is a comedy cake! I followed the directions exactly and used a bundt pan. It expanded and started running all over the place in the oven. We had to run fans, open windows and doors because it smoked up the house. Plus it was as if it had cooked hardly at all. If only it were April first. (The batter was extra yummy and I was so looking forward to this...darn it) I will try again.

Cola Pot Roast II

I have always made a roast very similar to this. My recipe does not have coke in it however. So, I thought I would give it a shot. I really wanted to like this but none of us liked the sweetness the coke added. It has actually grossed me out and is making me a little nauseous. Sorry....

I followed the recipe exactly. This is fabulous. I will cut back on the salt to at least half next time. I don't know if all the oil is necessary, so I may try and cut back on it as well.

Whipped Cream Cream Cheese Frosting

This is the yummiest! It is not the best for piping however. You can do a border, stars and writing. Don't expect to get a good rose out of it. I will definitely make this again because it is the best tasting.
