Granola Wheat Bread

Very delicious. I used homemade applesauce and granola cereal with raisins. Added ingredients in the order given. Chose wheat/multigrain light crust setting. Great recipe. Thanks for sharing!

Pretty Chicken Marinade

Reviewed: May 26, 2009
Awesome recipe - used regular vegetable oil vs. olive oil due to cost. I made it for a graduation party and people raved about how moist and flavorful the chicken tasted. I put between 6-8 chicken breasts in each of the four zip loc bags to feed the gang of people. I then doubled the recipe and divided the marinade between the four bags. It was more than enough marinade. I highly recommend this recipe!

Daddy's Popcorn

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2008
This recipe was excellent. Cheaper than the microwave kind. I did a blind taste test with my family and this popcorn won every time over the microwave brand. Instead of the paperbag, I put paper towels in a large bowl. I also use a large stock pot & lid to better contain the popping kernals.

Michell Jenny's Challah

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2008
Rediscovered the bread machine while cleaning the basement. This recipe was just what I was looking for. A nice homemade bread - light and fluffy. The crust wasn't as hard as I've had on other store-bought challahs but my family devoured the whole loaf in one sitting. Great tasting warmed with some butter on it.

Frosted Banana Bars

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2007
Very good. We ate it plain. A good recipes to use up leftover bananaa. Quick tip. When you have surplus bananas that won't be eaten, stick them in the freezer. The skins will turn dark brown. When you need bananas for a recipes, take what you need out of the freezer & defrost in the refrigerator or slowly in the microwave. Peel open and the banana will slip out - it won't look good but will taste fine in baked goods.

Banana Streusel Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2007
Very good. I doubled it to save time and feed the army of company that we had over. I baked it in a 10" tube pan for 50-60 minutes. I added a little more sugar and flour to the streusel to make it more crumbly. Tip: You can freeze bananas that are starting to turn brown. The skins will turn dark brown in the freezer - that's ok. When you want to make a recipe that calls for bananas, simply thaw what you need. The thawed bananas will slip out of their skins - they don't look great but will taste fine in any recipe.

Banana Pudding III

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2007
Very tasty. I didn't have enough heavy cream, so I supplemented the difference with ready-made cool whip. Didn't quite care for the lemony taste left on the bananas (to help prevent browning) - will cut back on that the next time or dilute with water. Definitely will make again.

Pie Crust IV

Easy to make and roll. The key is using a pastry cloth (I've even used a pillow case before) as it makes it easier to turn the dough into a pie pan and doesn't leave a mess on your countertop.

Caramel Bread Pudding

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2007
Tastes like french toast with the syrup on. I plan on making it when we have overnight guests as it's easier to make than individual french toasts. The key is using a good, crusty bread and not the typical sandwich bread that is very soft.

Marshmallow Treats

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2007
Thank you for posting this recipe. The off brand cereal and marshmallow package usually don't carry the recipes so this is a nice reference. I also add a teaspoon or so of vanilla to the melted marshmallow/butter mixture before adding the rice krispies. Then I top with various sprinkles after pressing in the pan to give it a festive appearance.

Cherry Cheese Pie II

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2007
Great recipe to make on hot days when you don't want to use the oven. Best to beat the cream cheese and condensed milk for a few minutes (3-5 minutes) to ensure creaminess. Also beat 3-5 minutes after adding lemon and vanilla. Top with favorite fruit topping or serve plain.

Absolutely Awesome BBQ Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2007
I ran out of store bought BBQ sauce and decided to make one from scratch. This was delicious. I was skeptical about using rum as an ingredient but the sauce turned out fabulous. (used spiced rum). The sauce wasn't as thick as store bought. I may try to thicken it with some flour/water next time.
