Hey! I am a self taught cook. I started the day I moved in with my Husband. Who knew you couldn't cut chicken with a serrated knife! I love new recipes, and was so excited when I found this site! Thank you!
My favorite things to cook
I love trying new side dishes. You can take the same meat dish and make it look and taste different depending on what you serve with it! I am not much of a "baker" per say, so when I find an easy delicious cake of cookie reicpe, I'll be sure to try it.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love to cook with my daughter. Shelikes to measure and dump. She usually lets me stir because it getss too thick. It will be interesting when I think she's old enough to use a knife!
My cooking triumphs
I don't really have a "triumph." I've tried a lot of recipes that my family has asked for often. And I've only had one or two big "OOPS!" moments.
My cooking tragedies
Speaking of "OOPS!" moments, When I started cooking, I didn't know you measure fresh and dried herbs differently. My recipe called for 2T of fresh basil. I put in 2T of dried basil. The result was not very tasty. To this day, I don't really care for basil!
