Small-town girl who was never allowed in the kitchen until age 16! Never really got to experiment with cooking until I moved out on my own, now my husband is my guinea pig! Since I'm new at cooking, I like simple recipes, with ingredients that I already have, like apple crisp, cookies, and casseroles. My husband cooks and I bake - good combination! Baked apple crisp exactly "how mom makes it" and he said it tasted even better than his mother's!!! Tried to make a lemon meringue pie... ended up making lemon meringue soup...
